Best part about it is…a year ago, I’d get some sleep, apologize to him, and we’d move on in a couple days. Instead, I’m sure a moderator will be along shortly to force good behavior instead of letting us hash it out on our own.

We all have our bad days. Today just happens to be one of mine. Hopefully, we are allowed to have them and express more raw emotion without punitive action. I know I am probably being unreasonable in my approach and that some tact my prevent harsher action. Nevertheless, it is important that these kinds of things get heard. It’s not like many posters here haven’t shared these exact thoughts in private threads. But no one has the courage to share it publicly because we are literally afraid of being banned. Well, I decided today I am not afraid. If I get banned and nothing changes for the better, I’m not sure I would want to be a part of this forum anymore anyway. If I get banned and moderation changes, perhaps it did some good. If I don’t get banned but get a warning, but also my public expression of what many of you are too afraid to say leads to some change, even better.

I am for being kinder to people and I admit that I wasn’t always nice to the new members. I don’t mind some stricter enforcement. But the constant weight of a potential ban for a bad day like today is ridiculous. We should all be able to prop each other up during challenging times.

Well, I was feeling a bit better getting this stuff off my chest. I was about ready to publicly apologize for my outburst. Of course, TV’s Frink, ever the supportive one, he’s the real hero. Yes, the one who has always been willing to have a laugh at another’s expense, he’s the hero!

I’m sorry for my outburst. I am truly disappointed with things around here, but that is okay. I just needed to vent, and I truly feel better.

I believe the forum is moderated more strictly than it has been in the past, and that’s not always a good thing. But it’s also not always a bad thing. I don’t agree with everything that has been done lately, but do you really think if I stood up and shouted I STAND WITH ENDER!!! then other people would too, and then Jay would have no choice but to give in to our demands?

I’m happy some of our favorite trolls are long-gone. I’m not happy about some other stuff, but what’s the point in bitching about it? This is the new forum…and frankly, for the most part, it’s not all that different from the old forum, other than trolls get banned and more respectable members get warnings…or bans if they keep pushing too much. It is what it is.

I think you’re being silly. You pretty much admitted it yourself. But you’re mad because I called you out on it. Real friends don’t just support one another blindly. Not necessarily asking for this. Perhaps something more like what you you actually said in this post. Or perhaps something like, “Man, you’re having a bad day. Sorry to hear that. Don’t say something you’ll regret.” Maybe not your style, and I know that my emotions are my own responsibility, but it might have helped avoid agitating me further.
