I don’t know. I understand there is racial prejudice and inequality, but at the same time one would think a person on parole ought to learn to keep their head down.

Like, the culture black Americans have developed among themselves is also not faultless. There’s more to it than simply that the justice system is unfair to them due to their race. It is unfair, but it’s not the only factor.

Another one.

Yes, it’s true. I was stalked and harassed by Al Franken. I will have details @MediaEqualizer shortly.

This one has definitely flown under the radar. Maybe because it’s not sexual?

http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/11/16/longtime-bay-area-radio-anchor-melanie-morgan-al-franken-harassed-me-over-political-argument/

Melanie Morgan, a longtime Bay Area conservative radio anchor, claimed Thursday that she was harassed with phone calls by Al Franken (D-Minn) in 2000, following a contentious debate on Bill Maher’s ABC late-night show “Politically Incorrect.”

Morgan, a former host on conservative talk station KSFO, made the allegations on Media Equalizer, a blog she co-founded. She said the harassment consisted of Franken aggressively trying to continue the argument off air and repeatedly calling her personal phone number to “badger” her.

Once the show wrapped, Morgan said Franken wouldn’t leave her alone and insisted on continuing the argument.

“He approached me backstage, angrily called me out on those numbers and insisted he would prove he was right,” she said. “He wouldn’t leave me alone, he kept following me. As a woman, his presence and proximity to me felt very threatening and intimidating.”

She said he later approached the show’s producer to get her phone number, “which was a clear violation of network protocol.” But Franken got the phone number and “shocked” her by calling her home at least three times.

“I became fearful and called (the producer) to complain and asked her to tell him to back off,” said Morgan, who was afraid he might begin stalking her home in Northern California.

“By the third phone call I was outraged and terrified, as he is really disturbed,” Morgan said.

She said he finally left her alone after she threatened to call the police and report him.

Trumpy tweeting about Franken seems risky. He’s just begging for an embarrassing photo or video of him getting grabby with someone to magically appear.

I doubt his billionth hypocritical tweet would be the one that would push someone over the edge into releasing something they’ve been sitting on all this time.

All that The Apprentice uncut footage and B roll isn’t locked up in Fort Knox either. Somebody needs to leave some doors open when they go home for the night and a post it note on the right tapes. 😉

I generally like Franken, but I’m happy to see anyone engaged in that kind of behavior burn.

I find it impossible to even give him the benefit of the doubt because he essentially admitted guilt in his response.

I’m unsure you read that whole article above.

He’s been on probation for 8-years (I think… which is insane enough) and is being put in jail for 2-4 years for two counts of “being arrested” (not the same as actually doing anything wrong, or being convicted) for “popping a wheelie” in a music video and “after an altercation… video of what had actually happened was released, all charges were dropped against Meek”. He’s also performed concerts in areas that the Judge did not allow but again he’s a musician on parole for 8 frickin’ years! A clear case of willfully trying to obtain honest employment. This case is f**ked up.

I tried to find video of the airport fight on youtube, but I all I found were videos of people talking about it and what not.

Some would argue that he has been on parole for so long because he keeps messing up.

Obviously these offenses aren’t prison worthy though.

But was the initial charge that got him put on parole, prison worthy? People are on parole when they could be in jail, and when you mess up while you are on parole, you can end up going to jail.

Not sure how much this matters (very little, somewhat, not at all?) but for what it’s worth.

meh.

In the article I see we have the pot calling the kettle black.

What are you questioning?

The “meh” was my response to the female staffers defending Franken.

The pot calling the kettle black was in response to Mr. “Grab 'em by the p****”'s criticism of Franken.

I think he’s questioning what the hell Trump is trying to say in that tweet. I know that was pretty much my reaction to it.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/man-accidentally-shoots-wife-church-discussing-weapons-churches/story?id=51221000

A man accidentally shot himself and his wife in their Tennessee church after he had taken his gun out during a discussion about weapons in places of worship, police said.

The man, 81, and his wife, 80, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The incident happened Thursday afternoon as members of the First United Methodist Church in Tellico Plains – about 60 miles southwest of Knoxville – were gathered at the church for a pre-Thanksgiving lunch, Tellico Plains Police Department Chief Russ Parks told ABC News.

The church members were discussing weapons in places of worship on the heels of the shooting at a Texas church earlier this month that killed over two dozen people, Parks said, and “one of the gentlemen said, ‘Well, I take my gun with me everywhere.’”

The 81-year-old man took his handgun out of his pocket, removed the magazine, cleared the weapon and handed it to other churchgoers who wanted to see it, Parks said.

He then took his weapon back, placed the magazine back in it, put the gun back in his holster and placed it in his pocket, Parks said.

When another man came over and asked to see the weapon, the man pulled his gun back out of his pocket and accidentally hit the trigger, firing one round, Parks said.

Obviously that guy doesn’t know anything about gun safety, as I understand it. You don’t touch the trigger unless you intend to shoot. Also you don’t point the gun at anything you don’t intend to shoot. Since it the himself and his wife, it follows that he must have had the gun pointed at them when he accidentally hit the trigger.

Also: should an 81-year-old have a gun? I’m inclined to say ‘no.’

Author

It depends upon the health of the 81 year old.

Two things:

  1. You fixed a typo, so that was part of my initial confusion.
  2. Tweets are not “articles” so that was the rest of my confusion.

the tweet was in the article you linked too.
