Maybe her mother died and her father married an 18 year old, but then the father also died, so the stepmom married another 18 year old, and all of this within a year?

I see. In that case it should be fine.

In that case, the parents have to ask the kid for permission.

Now, I don’t know what to do. Can I speak to your parents?

And of course, it is possible to end up with parents young enough to be one’s grandchildren.

Since this scenario could actually manifest with our current president’s family, it’s good to have the protocol worked out ahead of time.

This just blew my mind. Surely it’s happened at to somebody at some point. Wonder what that was like.

What if I’m 10 and she’s 38, and my parents are 38?

Technically possible with modern science (and one or more evil scientists).

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

It takes modern science to be a ten year year old with 38 year old parents?

I don’t understand were the words “Women’s day” left out?

Correct. Richard Herring (and anyone who follows him) has some fun with these idiots every year (worth a read and a chuckle):

True. Perhaps modern science can instead help me with my poor eye-sight and/or poor attention-skills that led me to misread what Frink said as “What if I’m 10 and she’s 38, and her parents are 38?”.

Were you 30?

No, but it seems customary to get the approval of the parents in any relationship. I’m not defending him by any means, a 30 year old and an 18 year old is really weird, but I don’t get why asking the parents for approval is weird.

I asked my wife’s parents first for their consent before I proposed to her, but that was a marriage proposal and we were both in college. I didn’t ask them if I could date her, but she wasn’t a high school kid.

Asking a lady’s parents if he may propose when you’re both in college is different than a 30 year old asking an 18 year old’s parents if he can take her out.

One wonders how old her parents were at the time. They very well could have been as little as 6 years old than him (or younger, but I’m not taking the discussion there).

Though not age-related, I thought this an interesting and strange case: I knew a husband and wife who shared the same set of parents. You see, after the younger couple hooked up, their divorced older parents met each other and fell in love and got married. I guess they never had to argue over whom to visit for Thanksgiving.

Both sets of parents met and married each other? Or is it like, he had a single mom; she had a single dad?

The latter. Truthfully, I’m not sure what happened to the other parent to either one. They may have been dead instead of divorced. 'Twas so long ago, I can’t remember. But they aren’t part of the fun story, so I left them out.

No, don’t worry. It’s alright because it was Al Franken. Just look at the Twitter comments. Doggone it, people like him!

Nah, liberals are all hypocrites. Just look at Twitter, which is definitely representative of all liberals.

Then you are talking about step parents, not parents.
