Neglify and I were co-staff at FE once upon a time, so he isn’t just some random druggy to me. Neglify did a shit-ton of work on FE and made it a better place. You however, are continuing to show how wrong you are despite how loud you are about the things you are wrong about.

Now, that’s why I responded to you about your tone-deaf hypocrisy and asked you to move our discussion to a more appropriate thread. The drug epidemic in this country is most certainly a political issue. This is not the anti-Trump thread, or get-all-the-Russians thread, no matter who much you think it should be. There are other day-to-day political issues in this country, and discussion of the drug epidemic, relevant laws and federal budget allotment, task forces, and etc. all belong in this thread.
My comment towards you about rich, privileged, LA and NYC liberal drug use, being a far different life than the life of poor drug users in Ohio, West Virginia, or Tennessee, was not an accusation at you. It was commentary on the topic. That liberal daughter smoking weed with her boyfriend at the university, that rich hedge fund scion throwing $20,000 cocaine parties, the celebrity blowing millions of dollars shooting up heroine in his NYC apartment…that’s a much different lifestyle than the one lead by poor drug addicts in the middle of the country. The ones who cannot afford their habit, and quickly resort to prostitution, theft, suicide, and murder.
I find it appalling and wanted to call you out for your appalling hypocrisy, since you pretend to carry on the good fight against the bad guys in here, but when you have a chance to take a stand on an issue, you are more interested in fighting people you don’t like.
Looks like Senator Merkley is doing an honest-to-God filibuster, a talking one. I can’t remember the last time that’s actually happened, although I recall Senator Paul once talked a lot and called it a filibuster, even though it really was just talking a lot.

They are going to use the nuclear option, and it will wind up happening on legislation during this term too. The filibuster is a good way to force moderate legislation and judicial appointments, but I doubt there is any real value in mandating its existence, as gridlock isn’t good for anyone either.
Probably just need to shrug and say it was good while it lasted.

This is important to call out because nobody has discussions with you. They see you say something that is totally full of shit, and they comment on it. After this, you respond with an endless stream of uninformed nonsense until everyone loses whatever tiny smidgeon of interest they had in the first place. That’s hardly a discussion.

I live in ground zero ganjaland USA. When it was legalized recreationally, everyone was joking that there’d be a new permanent blue haze in town, or at least near the college. I sure believed it. But there’s been no change at all. Maybe because usage was already so high, who knows, but really absolutely no change since legalization. So basically the same people are still getting high and playing hackey sack, the same people are still eyeing them nervously, state drug rehab programs are now a little better funded, and international cartels are now a little less well funded.
