Perhaps it was voluntary or something? Somebody has to pack them up and ship them back, and if the studio isn’t picking up the tab, a store might just blow it off?
I doubt the studio cared about used copies. I got Star Wars at FYE and Empire and a local place. Jedi I found new, but that was the week the blu rays came out so maybe. I can imagine the employees not giving a crap.
I have to get this off my chest, I wasn’t an OOT purist until 2011 and the Jedi Noooo bs. I had all the movies on DVD (SE of the OT), I even bought season one of the Clone Wars! I am so ashamed.
It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? As someone who has hated the SEs from Day 1, I can say you have nothing to be ashamed about. There’s no difference between us, as long you grew up or came to your senses at some point and realized how truly deplorable those POS abominations are.

We didn’t see Vader board the ship in R1. The troops could have come in first. It was a much larger ship, and badly damaged. The troops had probably fanned out searching everywhere, and Vader found the fleeing rebels first.
The Blockade Runner was captured, mostly intact, and resistance was to be expected.

As I said previously, the “new thread” part of the quote is the least important part. The point is that you continue to shitpost across the entire forum, despite the fact that you “don’t want to hijack with negative comments.” In fact, it’s even worse when you do it in threads that are completely unrelated, so maybe your brain is the one with the problem. I asked him to stop harassing me across multiple unrelated threads. He chose to ignore my request, or apologize, or simply move on. Instead he did the typical Frink thing, which was try and get in the last word, and threaten me instead.
Anyone can go and look for themselves that in multiple threads, some of us were discussing various other things: the lack of OOT, the quality of the DVD releases, Disney bots, SE alterations, you name it, and there was Frink popping in with the same out-of-context cross-post, followed by only “HAHAHAHAHAHAHA”. When other users pointed out that the threads were not new film threads, nor were the new films even being discussed, he did another typical Frink thing, which was to try and backtrack, like the junior high kid who trips over his own feet and then tries to play it off like he meant to do that all along.
I mean, it’s not even my style to go this route. Frink and I have not gotten along or often agreed with each other, but that’s what happens in the world sometimes. I let him take his shots at me whenever he wants as long as he’s not abusing the forum, and I’m sure he’s done the same with me. At some point though, he’s just acting so ridiculous, that I asked him to stop. Instead, he threatened me, so c’est la vie.
