Sean Spicer giving Liberal reporter the slam. Damn double standards that don’t exist. I love it.

There’s nothing to love, that’s just more misconstrued “double standard” bs. Yes, there’s nothing wrong with criticizing a judicial decision, no one is saying there is. The problem is that Trump is insulting judges personally and questioning their qualifications. Obama never did that.

Difficult article to read… the author has such enthusiasm but there is lots of missing info. What is her home country? Which “travel ban” is it talking about? Who exactly is calling her a terrorist? Would Trump’s ban allow her into the U.S.?

I believe Denmark is calling her a terrorist and I think she is Danish. She broke a travel ban to enter Syria to fight ISIL as the article states.

A more thorough and less simplistic report of the story:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/joanna-palani-danish-kurdish-woman-ypg-peshmerga-iraq-syria-fighting-isis-faces-jail-passport-police-a7471266.html

Wait wait wait…are you saying Joe the Plumber would do anything less than thorough journalistic work?

That not a real plumber douchebag is still a thing? I’d bet McCain regrets giving him his 15 minutes sometimes.

I was surprised to hear it too. Although I’m not sure how much of a thing he still is.

No, it’s all good. Complain away. I really would like to some here try to do Sean Spicer’s job. From our keyboards complaining and bitching is simple as pie. Actually doing what they do and then typing, far harder indeed.

I was also pulling his chain a little. 😃

As long as Spicer can do a better job than some guys in a Star War’s forum could, that’s good enough.

If you are saying that Obama and the media held no double standards in any capacity then we will have to agree to disagree on the matter. A simple search brought up a bunch of articles for you to chose from. Since I don’t know Mr. Obama personally I have to rely on media accounts

Isn’t he juggling two jobs normally done by two separate people? (Press secretary and communications director.) That may be part of the problem.

I don’t apply for jobs I’m not qualified for. The idea that I would be bad at it is irrelevant to how good or bad he is at it.

I believe so and he works his ass off. When I watch the Press Conferences you can see that he really is earning his pay. I also don’t see him as dishonest. He has a calm about him when asked the same “questions” in different contexts over and over by the same group of reporters. Aside from you Wook, I don’t believe there is anyone here that complains about him and Trump, that could match him in that department.

An average American Citizen who lashes out immediately instead of being rational, is nowhere near the problem for the nation as a President who lashes out immediately instead of being rational. We do and should hold the President to a higher standard.

My opinion is based on moral principal, not who holds a higher office, LOL. How you carry yourself is important regardless of how anyone else carries themselves. If you’re happy with double standards, that’s fine, but then say you’re okay with it.

😃

Consider this:

both Frink and the President are being judged by the same principle: they both could be considered knuckle heads if they lash out immediately with out being rational.

Now, we see they are both being judged by the same moral principle. they are both knuckle heads (in this thought experiment)

The part you seem to discredit however, is that a position of power (in this case being president of the “USA, USA, USA!!”), the fact that someone meets or doesn’t meet a moral standard, is amplified. in simple words, it matters more, because it affects more.

knuckle head on OT, annoying, but doesn’t get my laws or taxes changed.
Knuckle head in WH, annoying, can get my laws or taxes changed.

All I was getting at was your last 2 statements. I don’t disagree that a position of power is more important in the larger scheme of things though. I do however find it hypocritical for one person who does bitch about someone else who does it. It negates the validity of the bitching.

I just love how anything that makes Trump look bad is automatically fake news.

Trump unabashedly insults people and calls them names. In the very first republican debate, the first words out of his mouth were that all the politicians were “stupid”. Although maybe he was right – name-calling has proven to be effective.

It seems effective here too.

Name calling can be a very effective demoralizing tactic. It’s about control. That is why the people who do it, use it, they want the people they are targeting to feel powerless and weak. Doing this embues the name caller with a false bravado. The name caller feels very good about themselves. It makes them feel confident, dominant, and more important. It is a sign of a far deeper issue in most who use it. Name callers usually have a superiority complex.

It is a mask, nothing more.

Can’t wait to see the Trump reaction.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-sears-idUSKBN15Q0Q2

Major U.S. retailers Sears and Kmart this week removed 31 Trump Home items from their online product offerings to focus on more profitable items, a spokesman said on Saturday.

The decision follows retailer Nordstrom Inc’s announcement this week it had decided to stop carrying Ivanka Trump’s apparel because of declining sales, prompting President Donald Trump to take to Twitter to defend his daughter. White House spokesman Sean Spicer characterized the Nordstrom move as a “direct attack” on the president’s policies.

Neither Sears nor Kmart carried the Trump Home products in their retail stores, a Sears Holdings Corp spokesman said. Kmart is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sears Holdings.

“As part of the company’s initiative to optimize its online product assortment, we constantly refine that assortment to focus on our most profitable items,” spokesman Brian Hanover said in a statement.

Duracell, I apologize if you felt I was breaking your rules (though the examples given are subjective at best), I promise not to disagree with anyone or try to point out why or say anything good about Trump or any of his White House staff in your thread anymore.

They’re such horrible, scummy, repulsive, lying, don’t deserve to live and breathe, ego-driven, and money-driven POS’s. How we’re are not extinct after the 30 days he’s been in office is beyond me. I will hate him and hate him and hate him.

Is that enough hate or do I need more to make it feel genuine?

I think at some point you’ll have to accept – and not just say you accept, but genuinely accept – that your political viewpoint is in the extreme minority here and that not agreeing with your politics shouldn’t be taken personally. Besides, most posts contradicting yours are in regard to logical fallacies or failure to comprehend your point and not political differences.

Between you and Frink, the next one to prod the other gets a timeout.

I can accept different opinions. I have as I’ve been having small discussions with other members I’ve disagreed with and nothing happened. Your idea of logical fallacies and failure to comprehend is an opinion you have a right to. If someone can’t argue the other side of the coin with out the only one here who has stated in the past he’d be okay if you were dead, then you should just lock the thread or rename it to reflect the actual content. There was no prodding on my part. My guess is he just doesn’t like his “opinions are facts” being challenged. That is my opinion of which I am entitled to as well.

Logical fallacies are not opinion. There is a defect in logic or there isn’t.

The fact that one might have them compared to another is opinion. That was my point.

This post is not an attack on ANYONE nor is it a poke, jab, nudge, slam, backdoor insult, insinuation, or prod. I remember copying and pasting this sometime ago and find it relevant to some of the tension in this thread. Let me emphasize that when I say everyone, I am including myself, so I don’t wanna hear any moaning.

This was something created by Frink that I believe everyone has been guilty of at one time or another here. It’s something worth noting so that maybe we can all leave our egos at the door whenever we step in to this thread.

I’d like to thank Frink for creating it.

TV’s Frink’s Guide To Sensible Posting (Or: How Not To Be A Target)

  1. Listen To What You Are Being Told

  2. Don’t Be Ultra-Defensive

  3. Listen To Constructive Criticism

  4. Don’t Complain About How You Are Being Treated

  5. Don’t Use Personal Issues As An Excuse For Poor Behavior

You are having a rough time lately. Maybe you’ve had a rough day, or month, or year. Heck, maybe you’ve had a rough life. We get it, and we sympathize. Really, we do. But life sucking is not an excuse for you to act like an idiot. So don’t do it.

And if you do it, don’t keep doing it. People will cut you some extra slack if you are going through tough times. But we all have our limits.

  1. Don’t Create Massive Walls of Text, Especially If You Are Just Rambling

  2. Limit Personal Attacks To Joking, And Be Clear About Your Intent

On the internet, it’s all too easy to make personal attacks. Unlike real life, there are few repercussions when you deliberately offend someone on a forum (although you might get banned). But if you stoop to this level, you will quickly get a reputation that is often difficult to shed: Big Jerkface Poopybrains.

You don’t have to agree with everyone on everything, but limit your firm-but-polite attacks to the subject at hand. Don’t go calling people names or talking inappropriately about their private parts or family members.

Of course, feel free to attack someone if you are only joking. But make sure your intent is clear. A “winky” emoticon or some similar gesture usually will help with this, but it’s often a good idea to limit personal attack jokes to people who will already know you are joking.

If your joke is taken seriously, just apologize, you big-eared jerkface. 😉

  1. Don’t Treat Your Opinion As Fact

  2. Have A Sense Of Humor About Yourself

  3. Know When To Quit
