Watching that scene alone is enough for me to go and rate ROTR 1000/10.

Though perhaps you should remove the “TV border” from the scene for a cleaner look.

It’s already so heavily cropped due to the 4:3 source that I don’t want to zoom in any farther.

A generic white or black vignette should do the trick of both covering up the border and giving it even more of a “dream” look.

What do you mean by “vignette?”

Something that looks like this

Most programs have that effect, pretty simple to do.

Ah, I see. I’m sure I can find something in Vegas for that.

Tried a few things, nothing looked very good. But I’m not that bothered by the TV border anyway.

I like this scene, TV edge doesn’t strike me as a problem, and the blown out whites really sell it as a dreamy, ethereal sequence (memory haze wouldn’t have the same effect).

Speaking of memory haze… I wonder if somewhere you could work something in from the Holiday Special, where near the end Chewbacca is thinking back with a big ol’ memory haze effect (and everything in his memories was from the perspective of someone observing Chewbacca)… It has been made fun of in other Star Wars parodies and in South Park making fun of the Holiday Special. I’m not sure what you’d use as memories in this case, though… perhaps it would be best saved for a Ridiculous EpIV, and just put the entire sequence in straight from the Holiday Special of his memories of the '77 movie (probably when they’re giving out medals in the final scene). Anyway, more Holiday Special references in Ridiculous would be welcome.

Edit: The part I refer to (his lifeless stare is what really makes this scene gold) https://youtu.be/wJDAmBQ1u2g?t=1h33m2s

I’ve kind of made an unofficial decision to ignore the Holiday Special, both for reals and for these edits.

Though, in all fairness, it is canonical…

I’m pretty sure canon vs. non-canon has no bearing on these edits whatsoever.

That has what exactly to do with the Holiday Special? It is supposed to still be canon, and I stand by that until you provide proof other than various fan writings having been invalidated as we all know. Obviously we shouldn’t keep on that here, unless you have some concise example to offer.

And Frink, I mentioned that it was (and is) canon because I didn’t know how to take “for reals”, I wasn’t sure if you meant it wasn’t related to the “real” movies, or if you meant it in a slang way to indicate your own disinterest.
