The thing with me is, when someone asks if I’m a Star Wars fan, i just say “I love the original three movies.” Otherwise it’s assumed that I like a heap of crap.
It also depends where I am. If I’m at a baseball game, I’m actually more inclined to talk a little Star Wars with a stranger than I am at the comic book store. If I’m someplace even remotely nerdy, I deny Star Wars like Peter n’ Jesus. To them, those original three movies are 1) a small part of a much larger franchise and 2) now so full of changes that they no longer look, sound or give the feeling they once did.
Also, I feel like I hate non-OT Star Wars more than most around here and telling someone that I’m a Star Wars fan and then leaving them to assume that I like Revenge Of The Sith and Jedi Rocks is something I just can’t do.
