Sorry I’ve fallen behind on things. I’ve captured the old Black Hole LD. I’m actually going to do it again, because the LDDB entry suggests that the CX noise reduction was botched, so a second capture with CX turned off would be prudent.

I really wish I had the Japanese LD issued a few years later to compare with it.

Also, some damage to the 35mm print they used must have affected the soundtrack in one tiny spot, as Old B.O.B saying schedule is garbled.

I have found my Anchor Bay box set, and will try to take pictures this weekend. I will see if the VHS audio mistracks as bad a I remember. Worth a try on my newer Panasonic AG-1980. Maybe I can capture the garbled line?

I also looked through what little vinyl I still have in hopes of finding the “story of” record, but no luck. However, I did find my copy of this:

This came out two years after the movie, and used many sound effects from the film. I actually used my copy for a couple projects back in college. 😃
I’m willing to loan out my record for a transfer, so long as I get a lossless copy.
