To be completely honest, I do not want any of the OT characters or events be stained. So I don’t really want any directly OT-related spinoffs.
Stained? I doubt the original trilogy can be stained more than the prequels. Before Attack of the Clones, I would have been vehemently against a Boba Fett movie, but now all the mystery has been sucked out. I gave my ideas for a Boba Fett movie in the post just above yours, and you can see there’s some potential. As for Han Solo, when I first heard about it, I was a little iffy. Apparently, when asked what spinoff Lawrence Kasdan(writer of the Empire Strikes Back and Indiana Jones) wanted to make, he immediately said Han Solo because he was his favorite character. Combine that with the fact that the LEGO Movie guys are directing, and I see a lot of potential. As for Rogue One, I think it’s a great idea! It can very much be like this historical war movie in space. We can finally see the “Wars” side of “Star Wars”. Gareth Edwards is a great choice because as shown in Godzilla, he knows how to make things seem larger than life and terrifying which you would do with the Death Star. What about an Old Republic movie? This could be the chance to retcon midichlorians or show the Sith in their prime. Maybe a scumbag Sith cons people into thinking they could be Jedi with that midichlorian blood count thing. How about another Sith who abuses mind control like there’s no tommorow. The hero could even be Yoda or something. There’s so much potential in the Star Wars universe!
