Just to be clear, when it says...

"Free to upgrade for the first year"

...this means...

"Upgrading within the first year will be free of charge because we really want you to upgrade early. No strings attached!"

...not...

"We'll let you use it for a year and then hit you with a huge bill and/or charge you to keep the system upgraded. Evil laugh"

Can anybody point me to somewhere where the first scenario is spelled out in 10ft tall letters? My researches seem to suggest it really is the former option. But surely that can't be the case, this is Microsoft right?! LOL

This statement about Windows10 sounds more like the Microsoft we know...

"Windows10 automatically receives all non-critical updates, in addition to automatic driver updates, as they are released without the possibility of declining them" (There is a bit of this now anyway)
