Bonus Material You'd Like to See Released — Page 2

There is already too much deleted and bonus footage already, maybe if it was placed in a better context and organized it would be worth it.

For now, the footage has been out for years, and nothing has really been done with it, except for 1 edit. We are only now just getting some cleaned versions of the clips.

Just enjoy what's out already, and forget about getting anymore. It's not likely to happen.

Excuse me sir, we need to take you downtown and ask you a few questions about some unsolved indecent exposure cases.

FTFY

I don't think that fix will hold up in court.

But outside of my imagination, I haven't killed anyone.

Yeah, that's what they all say.  I'm sure your neighbors describe you a nice, sweet, quiet guy who wouldn't hurt a fly.

As a blooper fan I'd like to get a long gag reel. The cast had great chemistry and probably were goofing around a lot so there must be over an hour of bloopers.

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

HAW! HAW! Joke's on you! My neighbours never even see me; I only come out at night when everyone's asleep and vulnerable to abduction.

The stormtroopers/wampa footage is indeed on the BDs.

(Around the 2:00 mark)

What I really want to see more than anything is the so-called "Lost Cut" we've all heard so much about.  It drives me crazy that this hasn't seen the light of day with all that amazing alternate footage.

You're right, I knew I should have double checked that BD footage before posting.

Yeah the Lost Cut is the original workprint they put together.  The original Lucas version of ESB, if it even exists still, would be amazing to see.

I'd like to see them too, both for the alternate footage and out of curiosity. But being them just rough cuts and probably not preserved, wouldn't they be completely faded by now? Would they be able to remake them just from the camera negatives, if properly preserved?

IG-88 fighting Boba Fett inside Slave 1 from Empire. Apparently they spent two days filming this.

 Wait, what? WHAT?

 I second that - WHAT?!

I read the Rinzler books cover to cover and I'm pretty damn sure I'd remember something like that if it were mentioned...

Thirded. Where did you hear this?

It's from an interview with Jeremy Bulloch years ago. I might have a copy of it somewhere, but off hand I can't remember which book / mag it was in.

From what I remember it was an interview done during the making of Empire and he just mentions that he's spent the last two days filming inside Slave 1 with  IG-88. I really stuck with me as obviously it's not in the film. My guess is IG-88 tries to steal Solo for himself. It might have been expanded upon in a comic at one time.

I'm on holiday at the moment but when I get home I'll have a look.

EDIT: actually it might have been an interview with Norm Reynolds... Fuck I can't remember. I read it years ago, I'm doubting the who and the where but it was said!

Maybe someone could ask Mr. Bulloch? Although I always got the impression IG-88 really wasn't built to do much except stand there and look intimidating.

I've heard so much about the Star Wars workprint, but not much about TESB.  What do you know?  Where did you hear about it?

I read about it here: http://web.archive.org/web/20140924201932/http://secrethistoryofstarwars.com/natureofthebeast1.html

When Lucas finally flew in from California and saw the rough cut he was horrified and scrambled to re-edit the film to be more like the way he envisioned--action-oriented, eliminating subtlety and moving from scene to scene as fast as possible;[60] again, very much like the editing of the prequels. His cut was a unanimously decreed disaster.[61] Kershner then recut the film with Lucas and it finally became we entity we know.[62]

And he does that oh so incredibly well...

If this scene actually exists, then I want it released yesterday.

If not, I'd be happy to see something equivalent in the Boba Fett spinoff film.

I have read various stories about a confrontation between Boba fett and IG88.

I think there was an idea that IG88 was trying to intercept and destroy Boba fett in Slave 1 in bespin orbit but he was blown to pieces by missiles from Slave 1. IG88 was attempting to destroy Boba and claim the bounty on the millenium falcon.

I doubt they filmed anything like this but if they did. absolutely want to see it.

There is a lot more empire strikes back alternate footage left to be released. It would be nice to see a workprint version even if low quality just to see all the stuff that got cut.

Although I am bumping this one...

I found this clip that well I thought it was pretty cool to be honest... So here you go from 1999.

Bobba Fett Vs IG-88

http://www.youtube.com/watch?t=28&v=yhDT1o9WuFQ

I am also beginning to wonder how much inspiration was potentially drawn from shots planned that never made the OT but ended up in the prequel trilogy. Was the Slave 1 asteroid chase in ATOC inspired by the sequence of IG88 vs Boba Fett?

Was it meant to take place in the space Junk?

The guy who made this video of Boba Fett vs IG88 worked on ATOC and Revenge of the sith as a droid technician apparently.

It was made before Attack of the clones...Did this guy know something...Had he seen story boards or unseen footage?

It's all a bit uncanny if you ask me.
