I love the fact that the other pilot is so shocked that he crashes into Vader.

To be honest, I've always thought it was completely intentional.  Call it a cultural thing, but rather than panic, I thought that the TIE-Fighter pilot "crashed" into Vader's TIE/advanced so that he could get him out of the way of the Falcon's fire.

That's the Empire. Total obedience and disregard for human life, regular pilots, soldiers, even officers being nothing more than living drones for the Emperor and Vader.

Or maybe he panicked. They're still human but it takes away of the "elite" status of the Imperial TIE pilots compared to the (mostly) rookie and undertrained rebels...

From the script (emphasis mine):

Darth Vader strides purposefully down a Death Star corridor, flanked by Imperial stormtroopers.

VADER: Several fighters have broken off from the main group. Come with me!

Vader's wingman panics at the sight of the oncoming pirate starship and veers radically to one side, colliding with Vader's TIE fighter in the process. Vader's wingman crashes.

The debate is over. ;-)

Yes, Digital Underground does rock the house.

It's perfectly logical! ;)

I tire of the constant EU fueled suppositions as much as the next guy....but to be fair Vader DOES actually specifically walk up to the 2 pilots in question and order them to follow him.....he doesn't just grab 2 guys walking by.

Yes, they were walking by probably on their way to their fighters to join the battle overall.  Vader happened to cross their paths and commandeered them as his wingmen.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Watch the film again......if he had caught them walking by the dialogue would have happened in the middle of the hallway. Vader purposefully turns and heads over to the wall where these 2 piolts were standing, waiting.

True. I don't care what the script says. :P

I know a few pages back we were discussing the Leia interrogation scene and I think AdY was going to alter the device again?

That gave me an excuse to post this image I stumbled across...

Maybe a bit much?

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

That's Virus (1999), why were there so many aliens under water movies around that time?

Wasn't Sphere like the only other at the time?

When Abyss was announced lots of similar films about "underwater creatures" came out before it did. The best being Leviathan.

DeepStar Six, The Evil Below, Lords Of The Deep, The Rift as well.

Seaquest was on the telly between them.

It is a shame that the PT submarine sequences were so Unstarwarsian because the potential to blow these pretenders out of the water (tee hee) was there.

I have a question for Adywan or anyone else from the Revisited team:

The work on ESB:R is fantastic and it seems to me that you are going above and beyond even what you did for ANH:R.

The question I have is: will you be doing that for ANH:HD too?  Like for example creating new models, redoing mattes, etc.?  One area that I can think of benefiting from special attention is some of the Death Star shots from that battle that still look a lot like models.

Another idea would be to replace some of those cheap-looking 2D shots of the death star as viewed during the space battle.

I don't think we're sure yet. I imagine once Ady gets down to it, he'll surprise us all by creating new models and such.

I've just been reading about the Praxis ring effect on Wikipedia and it suggested that the effect only really makes sense in the context of the two Death Stars because the blast would be funneled through the equatorial trench.

However in ANH:SE the ring goes the wrong way (not the case with the Death Star in ROTJ:SE).

It might be interesting to try and correct that by tilting the station rather than the exposition.

I'd vote for no ring on the Alderaan explosion.

If I was served up a ANH:R HD version I really would not want to see anything changed to much from what it already was... I know people complained about a few things like the lightsabre needle or music added to the light sabre duel or what ever...

Cue music

Screw changing it from what it was... It blew me away...Amazing

I would like to see Tarkin before DS explodes and I would like to see Boba mooching around on Tattooine.. But I can live without these

That is about it, all changes should stay intact end of in my opinion..

In fact I like it just the way it is and if it was reiterated it should be very very close to what it was in the first place.

But I feel it would be very hard to duplicate that magic of when it first appeared... That is perhaps out of reach for second dibs

I spent my birthday yesterday showing my sweetheart ANH:R for the first time (I've been wanting to do it for the five years we've been together, and it finally happened -- a birthday miracle!). As someone who doesn't really like movies, action scenes, or sci-fi . . . she actually enjoyed it! And after I told her a bit about all the hard work that went into your version, Ady, she's curious to check out the Visual Comparisons. She had only seen ANH once before, 15 years ago, when she was half asleep, so this was essentially her first time watching any version -- I made sure it was the right one. :-)

So thanks for making my birthday an even more special one -- and getting to share my name in the credits with her was an especially magical moment.

Yeah, i totally read that one the in the wrong way, beyond the explination.

Reading between the lines does sometimes mis-direct the reader....Or perhaps it is sometimes intentionally sordid :-\

Haha, thanks guys. Maybe for our ten-year . . .

Sorry if this question has already been answered but were all the actors names corrected in ANH;R ?

Drewe Henley was apparently not impressed they hadn't corrected his name for the SE.

If it was fixed for ANH:R it might be nice to send him a copy.

I can't remember, did Ady fix the colours of the buttons on Vader's chest box? I noticed while watching the original, that ESB and ROTJ had different colour buttons compared to ANH (white, instead of orange/red)

I wonder if he'll edit the lights so they're no longer lit after Vader gets his circuits fried by the Emperor. It would make sense since his life support system is no longer functioning properly.
