How long before someone photoshops in a Jedi robe, and people on the net freak out for a while? ;)

And Harrison Ford on it:

Surprisingly, he's...interested?

Well not only did he have to deal with Han not dying, he's had many years to mellow about it and perhaps to see more opportunity in the role 30+ years later than he saw 3 years after ESB. Different kind of situation, but it reminds me of Tom Baker declining to take part in The Five Doctors and he later regretted it. Ford has the benefit of not regretting!

The blue elephant in the room.

Finally I can post this since trying to do so last night.

Bring Ford back, then kill Han off in the first half of the movie. DO IT!

I dunno. I'd like to see Han Solo again. And not some other actor playing him either.

You can't have Han without Chewie, either. :)

my biggest fear for the new trilogy is that they'll fill it full young characters , teens and obnoxious kids , especially if they try to bring back Mark Carrie and Harrison they'll be looking at passing the baton.

I don't mind younger characters so long as there's a logical reason for them to be in the plot. Star Trek II brought in Spock's protege and Kirk's son. It sure seemed like they would the "next generation" before anyone saw ST III.

Even if they ignore the EU, it stands to reason Leia and Han would have had some kids after ROTJ. Even Lando might have settled down and raised a family.

If there's still a Rebel alliance, you need some young blood in the ranks. I do hope we see Wedge again. Maybe they'll get Denis Lawson back with the promise of going out in a blaze of glory? ;)

They could do both a remake-reboot and a seperate ST with the original cast.

If they go with ST originals, everything should be consistent with the OT, IMO.

The other day, I was very surprised to see another little brunette from the mid-'70s. She didn't look like Marie Osmond, and heavy make-up may have helped, but, deeyaamm, that was one smokin' HAWT looking 30 year-old chick. I'd bet dollars to dimes they could get CF looking like a hawt 42.

       If I had to choose, I'd want a R-R.

Since it's already announced as "Episode VII" it's going to be a continuation of the story in some way.

Sadly that's no guarantee that Damon Lindelof won't abseil in at the last moment to screw it up.

What must Mickey Suttle be thinking of all this? lol

Mickey Suttle was right.

Mickey Suttle was probably one of them.

I look forward to seeing some prequel characters in the new movies, I mean like Jedi ghosts. I don't know if you can have the other characters cameo unless they are played by other actors as they will look too young. I haven't seen very convincing makeup to make someone look older so that's probably the only way.

I know it should at lest be possible to bring back anakin and yoda, I don't know about having Ewan McGregor reprise Obi Wan tho, it will look out of place after Luke has only seen him as an old man so I hope they don't do that. I wouldn't mind seeing Mace Windu but Luke never met him so I don't know how they would introduce them. I hope they don't bring back Liam Neeson tho, his character was boring.

The fact that we're even discussing this boggles my mind! If you'd asked me in 1983 if there was a greater chance of MH, HF and CF considering a SW sequel 30+ years later or me growing a third arm....I would have chosen the latter.

Fun idea, but I'm still waiting to see what Disney does about the OOT on blu-ray and then I'll see how excited I can get about anything else.

They won't do anything, because the rights to the OT were not part of the $4.05b deal.  In fact, the rights to the OT remain with Fox until 2020.

You're mistaken.

The distribution rights to the existing six films remain with Fox, but you can be sure they were never the ones holding back a proper release of the OOT. That was Lucas.

We don't know the details of the Disney deal. Lucas may or may not have included a clause stating that the OOT is never to see the light of day. We have no way of knowing.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the release of the original movies on BD would constitute 'distribution'.  Therefore, whether or not the OOT gets released on BD would remain the decision of Fox, not Disney.

On top of that, when 2020 comes, Fox still owns 1977's "Star Wars" (it was a studio production).  They could hold onto it forever.

I wish that I could just wish my feelings away...but I can't.  Wishful wishing can only lead to wishes wished for in futile wishfulness, which is not what I wish to wish for.

Fox would be the distributor but that's not the same thing as Fox making the decisions regarding it. Fox released the Bond box, but they don't decide what's on it or whether it will happen or not happen. They just get to be the venue used.
