Help Wanted: Does ANYBODY have a rip of the Ewoks LP? (for the 2 Ewok films)

You know, I’m surprised that this apparently doesn’t seem to exist on the Internet, but I can’t find it anywhere. For those who don’t know, a two-sided LP was released on December 8, 1986 which contained music from the two Ewok telemovies. It ran for 14 tracks, coming out to a 35:50 running time. It was also never released on CD. Even if I could find and legitimately purchase this thing, I don’t even know what an LP player looks like.

So I obviously went to the Internet, and all I could find were various rips from a bootleg soundtrack that is notoriously poorly put-together. No rips from the official source. So where did I think to go next? Why, here, of course. Do any of you have this, and would it be too much to ask for you to rip it and put it up somewhere? I’d love to give it a listen, and I’m sure the preservation community would appreciate it as well.

There is a bootleg CD-R out there, which is a rip of the LP. The quality is awesome. Try to find it by looking for "Ewoks - Caravan of Courage, Battle for Endor" as a lossless rip (APE, Flac etc.). It has 17 tracks, the 14 from the LP plus 3 tracks from other sources (not Ewok, but SW related).

The "small grey horse with the long ears" might help you.

Odd... that description matches exactly with the bootleg I mentioned in the OP, but you say the quality is great. I might look into it. Maybe there's a reason no one posts the official version.

Maybe you have the same problem I have with trying to find Bruce Broughton's "Young Sherlock Holmes". Im looking for the Intrada Double-CD, but the rips you find are all far from good, but noisy as hell.

Johnboy, are you sure this was never officially released on CD?

I've just spotted eBay item number 370526337047: a CD containing 14 tracks (plus two bonus). It claims to be a "limited import CD", and the auction mentions it's a "manufactured disc" so it doesn't appear to be a bootleg - although the cover doesn't look very professional (to me).

Wookiepedia confirms that the CD is a bootleg.

Hey Johnboy3434,

You still looking for this?  I have the official LP and am going to start the transfer to audio files soon.

Sorry for the ten-month delay in responding to this, but I forgot this thread even existed after a few months. If you ever got around to ripping the LP, I'm still interested. Thanks either way!
