Raiders of The Lost Ark in IMAX! — Page 2

SAW IT AND LOVED IT.

(of course)

Seriously though, I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I just saw Raiders of the Lost Ark on the big(est) screen. My third favorite picture of all time. My favorite filmmaker's best film.

For the last seventeen years I have been blessed with youth. Unfortunately, this also means that I have never been able to seen my favorite movies properly. I was five or six when I first saw ROTLA. And I loved it (of course). Indiana Jones immediately became my number one hero, and he has been ever since. In 2008 I saw him on the big screen, but it wasn't the same.

But this was different. This was Raiders of the Lost Ark! I could construct this film from memory, yet watching it again today it was like watching it for the first time all over agin. But bigger this time!

What a great film too. There's just so much here - a ridiculous amount of exceptional action, set pieces, and everything! This film really is that good!

I am so glad I was able to see this (on a real IMAX screen and for only $11.50), and will (probably) remember this experience forever. I also managed to snag one of those posters, and will be framing it and placing it in my room shortly.

If you haven't gone yet, it's playing through Thursday, so go see it!

Unfortunately it says Indiana Jones but it's still a sweet poster and a nice memento of sorts.

I haven't been disappointed by my local digital IMAX yet. Go in with an open mind, and have a good time!

LOL, I'm sure I will! I just meant, I know not to expect the equivalent of 15-70 IMAX (esp not Lincoln Square, which is apparently the largest screen in the country).

Dominic: did you see it in true IMAX then? Great story. In NYC it's gonna cost us an arm and a leg ($19, plus online 'convenience' fee). That's worth it for Raiders, I think, but in general it's highway robbery (except maybe at Lincoln Square. Still playing 'The Dark Knight Returns' there, if anyone's interested).

I'd love to get one of those posters but don't expect it from a big nyc theater.

'not gonna get the blu ray until its individually released.  Loved Indy the action hero, but the series overall is average.  TOD has aged poorly and dont care for KOTCS.'

TOD has a bad rep but it's the only movie where you truly feel, viscerally, just how evil the main antagonists are, and I really like that. I could live with the ridiculousness of Willie because of the evil of Mola Ram.

I, too, don't care for KOTCS, and think that RLM did a good job explaining why

“I find your lack of faith disturbing.”

Yeah it was a true IMAX in Providence. The fact that it was in RI was probably one of the reasons it was so cheap, the other being that it was a matinee.
