I seem to remember reading somewhere (almost certain I didn't dream it) that for the PT Ady will be zooming a lot of effects shots to tighten the focus.

Any particular shots in mind? And why do they need tightened focus, exactly?

Amazing clip by the way, Ady!

Just in case anyone is wondering, I can confirm that muddyknees2000 is not trying to scam you and could use some money to help out with ESBR.

Fine, but who can confirm *you* are not trying to scam us?

If you're suggesting that Bender is a reliable source either for or against 005's trustworthiness, you're just fooling yourself.

So can I still send a donation through paypal in the normal channels?

I know Ady has said that he has raised all the funds he needed for ESB....don't know if he wants to start taking donations for ROTJ yet (my guess would be not)

Checked Ady's last video, excellent quality as he got us used to; if anything, I only noticed one tiny thing at 1:09 - 1:11, when the door behind Chewie and Lando closes, it sort of bounces a little.

But again, it's nothing really, so congrats for the huge effort done!

1. When Leia is helping repair the Falcon and repeatedly tries to rotate a handle, the sound is something like two plastic blocks knocking together.  This doesn't seem consistent with whatever she's trying to do (as in it sounds like no amount of force will move it.)

I agree with this. Perhaps changing it to more of a metal clanging against metal sound would work?

Ah. I was wondering where to post my unrelated-to-ESB:R Star Wars spoofs - obvious when you think about it.

Agree 100%. That little bounce to me is part of the "bucket of bolts" charm of the Falcon.

Saw the latest clip. Always first rate stuff Ady. I'm also glad to see the 1500$ in donations was met so fast.

About the donations, I know it wouldn't do me any good to donate now, but does it haft to be through PayPal, or can we send a donation through mail? This of course is for the future edits.

I am extremely excited for both a taste of the Complete Saga and for the edit of Empire. Particularly because I watched Return of the Jedi's theatrical restoration yesterday, it got me thinking about what modern technology can do to movies. Adywan, I want you to know that there will be a weekend devoted entirely to Star Wars, and it is in large part your fault. :)

Additionally, I wasn't quite sure where to put this question, so I thought I would ask here, because it is related to Adywan's edits...

Has anyone made efforts to perform restoration on the deleted scenes in the Blu-Ray? I know it's an entirely different form of work than color correction, much more extensive, but it seems possible. Just very difficult. It's beyond my scope of knowledge to say what exactly needs to be done, but I just wanted to know if it had been attempted by adywan or anyone else. And yes, I am asking in large part because of 'that' lightsaber scene.

Apologies if I am off-topic.

I didn't think it was possible....I mean you can't restore what isn't there....

First of all you should check with your country's Postal Services if you are even allowed to send cash money by mail. In case you are, you most likely will have to utilize a 'Special Delivery' in which your contents are nót insured for loss/damages.

Long story short: I'd advise against sending any form of cash money by mail, even if your country allows you to.

Not to sound like a criticism, but it's far better, in my experience, to start at $0.99 or even $0.01. This is when, I've found, people get into a bidding frenzy. Start too high and less people even register interest. You also avoid listing fees by starting that low. Just a thought in case it doesn't sell this time around...

I don't recall seeing any ESB deleted scenes that were worth inserting. ROTJ on the other hand... I'd love to see the bunker raid and the Falcon turrets added. Not sure it's possible, given their quality.

I'm not so much debating the merit of the scenes as much as I am curious if anyone has tried. I don't have access to the discs right now so I can't give any sort of critical eye as to their shape, but I was still curious. It seems like they would be a valuable resource both for this edit and others.

That said, I just about weep watching the medical center scene and knowing it's cut though. It's probably my favorite moment of straight up human interaction in the movie, and it FELT missing in the finished version of Empire. Not having Luke say that he's leaving makes the whole thing feel sudden and abrupt, and it was one of my biggest qualms with the movie originally. If there was any one thing I wished in Empire Revisited, anything at all, it would be that some version of that scene remained, subtext and the reveal in Jedi be damned.

And no, I don't have ANY illusions that such a thing would happen.

Western Union is a great way of sending money internationally but I understand that you guys want to keep it simple and only use PayPal.

As to the deleted scenes, I saw some guys here work magic with cleaning stuff up, so I'm sure it's possible. Even colourizing the B&W ones should be possible, it's something that was already being done in the 80s. Whether they'd be useful for Ady's edits is of course a whole other question, but there are some nice ones for ROTJ.

Tangental to that point, I wonder if the DVD prequel deleted scenes were ever completed in HD (some were never truly completed).

It was a bit suspect they weren't on the blu-rays, they have been used a lot in fan edits.

I guess Lucas sees the OT deleted scenes the same way he sees the OUT (not worth the effort).

I also doubt if he has much in the way of sources to mount a proper restoration of the deleted material (some of which the company denied existed, probably because they could be bothered to look).
