At :38 there's a shot of Tarkin that lasts about a second. It's a bit jarring. You should either make it longer, or take it out all together.

I agree, but I need the shot for transition purpose. If if was 1 second, that would be enough, but it is only 16 frames. I've extended it to the 30-32 frames (same length as the previous Tarkin shot). Looks much better now. Anyway, few more minor tweaks are needed for this scene.

I have not yet changed the video with the new slightly longer Tarkin shot. I'll post a new video, after I do the final touches.

Just saw the conference video. It looked good overall, though I agree about the oddly quick shot of Tarkin. I can't wait to see the slightly longer version. Your videos are really succeeding, in my opinion, in making Vader more ESB-esque.

The Tarkin shot which was too short is now longer. Some frames where I deleted Tarin speaking have been further cleaned up. I also made Vader's movements during his speech about the power of the force a bit slower. I will not be touching this segment now for some time, as after viewing it like a million times, I need a break from it.

I like it! The longer shot of Tarkin works well. He seems uneasy but powerless to stop Vader. All in all, it's very good.

I've re-cut the scene aboard DS after Falcon lands and the crew is sent to scan the ship. The scanning guy no longer arbitrarily checks the non-equipment (looks like a small fire extinguisher), and the the whole scene is now a bit faster. I have always disliked the scene. We now immediately cut from the Han and the guys to the scanning crew climbing aboard the Falcon. Also a couple of smaller audio and video cuts to speed things up.

But it wouldn't make sense, because he was not worried about them getting away, as they have planted a tracking device on Falcon.

Well, they had to put up at least some fight, so it wouldn't be so obvious they were tracking the Falcon ;)

i love how that scene closes on TFU.

imagine inserting a small shot after the falcon takes off, of vader in a similar manner. stormtroopers and staff running all over the place, but vader pausing and turning around at a much more menacing pace.

I'd love some more of Vader's show of force, but it is out of my scope... BTW, I love Vader in that TFU clip.

I love that clip too... That game was ALMOST awesome. I will say all friggin' 5 minutes of the gameplay time they give you was pretty fun. =/

First of all, great idea, IMHO a strong Vader is a great improvement to ANH. :)

I liked your videos, and I would like to make a suggestion, that (again IMHO) would make the choke scene perfect. Vader shouldn't release him in silence, it should say something like "Consider this a warning" or something like that. Of course, you will need to find the words in the movies and mount the phrase, but I believe that wouldn't be a problem. If you can't find it, you could try using that reading of the bible made by James Earl Jones. Luckily Vader has no mouth so he can say wherever you want. :)

The choke scene will stay as it is for now, but I might revisit it.

Currently I am streamlining the fight aboard Tantive IV so the stromtroopers come off stronger and to improve the pace.

Sounds interesting. It's cool you're daring to cut such iconic scenes. It'll be an intriguing fan edit.

Well, I personally never thought of the stormtroopers aboard Tantive as iconic, even as a child. Just clumsy.
