The all-purpose ART thread!

Any artists here? Show us your stuff! :)

I'll start off with something I did for my first school; a tiger that was used for printing on t-shirts:

Though it's based on a real photograph of a tiger roaring, I purposefully made it simpler because it was going to be on budget shirts. Going nuts with the detail would have hurt it in the end, I think. This is from 1994 or so.

Oh, and the original mascot was Snoopy. Dunno why they changed it after so many years.

When I used to manage Blockbuster I made little comics I'd email the staff. Eventually I had about 90 people from the nearby Blockbusters on my 'subscription.' I did about 100 strips. I wasn't very good but here are a few I'm least embarrassed by.

Can this thread also be used to discuss other art? I saw some cool stuff at the art museum last week.

I have a very peculiar taste in art. Here's some pictures of my favorite paintings:

Salvador Dali

Rene Magritte

I also like the oldies, too.

Sebastian Pether - The Eruption of Vesuvius

The Birth of Venus

Jan Van Eyk - The Marriage of Arnofini

I got the opportunity to see another couple favorites of mine in person, Water Lilies by Claude Monet and Young Man in a Black Beret by Rembrant being prime examples.

These are pictures that I took of them.

^(immediately after I took this, I was told that photography of this painting was not allowed. I was lucky!)

Here's the Rembrandt:

There are many other interesting pieces I saw there, (including things by Van Gogh, Jackson Pollack, Leonardo Da Vinci, Gaugin, Salvador Dali, Seurat, Thomas Hart Benton, among many others) so I will upload those eventually, along with some videos on YouTube.

The outside of the museum is also beautiful.

Haha, no. :p I think I had done the rest and then debated whether to leave them blank—comic book style—or fill them in. I decided to leave them blank, obviously.

For a moment there I thought he was smoking a joint, LOL!

HA! Yeah, the end of that middle finger came out kind of rectangular. I'll have to fix that.

HAHAHA! I didn't even think of that. The hospital bracelet does look like a fat joint. Oh great. Now I can't ever look at it any other way.

I just found this in my photbucket from years ago. I have no idea why I altered this drawing, but if there's such a thing as art, this certainly isn't it.

I have a lot of drawings, but my scanner is messed up, so I can't post them.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas
