booooring thread !! I was looking for (good ?) news regarding the blu-ray release, and I receive notifications anytime, ANYTIME this thread is updated with... this useless scholl fight !!

I thought this was an adult thread, and I feel like I'm back at school (and I'm 42 years old !!!)

Can we please stop talking on nothing and post some serious news instead ? And I mean, when there will be news !!

Thank Christ we're a self-regulated community with the ability to drive away idiots that have no reason or business to be here. Now I can stop ignoring this thread for fear that it might kill my brain cells with its stupidity.

This thread would be pretty quiet if we are only waiting for official news on the bluray.

Probably because I'm one of the youngest users here, the whole "Greedo Shooting First" has never really irked me that much, but I still don't care for it. The first time I really remember seeing the films was the DVD release of the Special Editions, so when I saw the changes, I always thought they were present in the original films. (The closest to the original films I've ever seen is adywan's edit) But even when seeing the DVDs, I think that was back in 2004, so I was like 9, the thing that I didn't like was the Hayden/Sebastian switch. I knew Hayden wasn't suppose to be there because back then I had these action figures of all the ghosts sitting on the Endor bridge, including the Sebastian Anakin. So I never understood why Hayden was there....

So I'm actually curious to see what "wacky" changes Lucas does to these films on the Blu-Ray, because in my opinion, you can't really screw-up as bad as the Hayden/Sebastian thing, but you never know with Ol' George-y!

I hope they add more scenes of walking to and from landing platforms.  One can never have too many of those.

If they can put Hayden's face on Shaw's body, they can put McGregor's face on Guiness' body. And then CG his lips to match the dialogue. Seriously, wouldn't be as hard you'd think. They have hundreds of hours of footage of McGregor and CG models of him already.

What a miserable era we live in. Soon enough people are going to be nostalgic for the 04 DVDs like they do now for the 97SE's. 

And I bet the LOC print of ESB is the SE too. Should of put that and ROTJ in the LOC before 97.

Why?  That's easy.  Because George has been having 1980 prints destroyed since at least 1997.

It's probably the thing that worries me the most long term about the changes to these movies; that the current generation will never know what the originals looked like.

I would change one thing however: who goes into carbon freeze...

Fox distributed the 97 version too, that's no guarantee they donated the 1980 version from their archive. (or that they even had anything to donate that wasn't totally pink by now)

Following up on (aged and scarred) Hayden being inserted into the unmasking scene, I'd actually be all for it (yes, really!) IF he'd actually been a competent actor in the prequels. As it stands, I'd just resent the change as Hayden never did the character any justice in his performance. That whiny asshole was NOT Anakin Skywalker. Furthermore, his grin as a force ghost makes him look like a child molester.

If he'd actually been any good, it would add much needed continuity (though this would have been better addressed by, oh I dunno, getting someone with a vague resemblance to Sebastian Shaw and an English accent to play Anakin in the first place!!!!)

And for anyone who'd be offended by the removal of Sebastian Shaw, they still have the originals....oh wait.

P.S. This thread has been GOLD! So many laugh out loud moments.
