So glad to hear Falcon back on course :D

Had this really strange thought earlier, wot if George Lucas asked Adywan and the rest of us to write, design and produce his live action series or maybe future projects. lmao.

Anyways lovin the trailer, lookin great, quick question which does kinda fit in with another thread but hope this will help me search for the answers i want, how is the OT emporer gonna be the same/different in PT wen you Ady get round to it?

See the problem I have is this isn't just an idea that sprung into his head. This was suspose to be the Emperor's master plan. So I think that instead of Vader seggesting the idea to the emperor, the emperor should suggest the idea to Vader, if you catch my drift.

 Two things:

1)  What's this "master plan" the Emperor is supposed to have?  Based on the conversation, the way I see it , it looks as though Palpatine just wants Luke whacked so he no longer poses a threat.  It's Vader who then comes up with the idea of turning Luke to the Dark Side -- reason being a) he's his son, and b) Vader sees Luke as a means to move up the corporate ladder and take Palpatine's job.  The Emperor, for his part, agrees to this suggestion, either because a) he acknowledges that 3 bad guys are better than 2, or b) he knows what Vader is up to and wants to beat him at his own game (i.e., use Luke to get rid of the competition which Vader poses, which is exactly what he ends up doing in ROTJ).

I always thought that Palps gets the idea to have Luke replace Vader (i.e. trade in the new younger, stronger model). It's like a bad marriage when the husband has a mid-wife crisis.

We see him do it once already in ROTS "Soon I will have a new apprentice, one far younger and more powerful."

Since he's not omniscient, it dawns on him in this coversation w/Vader and he decides to trade up.

That's the second or third time in the past month or so that I've been reminded of the movie "The Black Hole" when viewing this thread and others, like the ESB/ROTJ Wishlist and such. (most recently because a concept drawing for IG-88 reminded us of Maximillian) Very cool movie with some great designs and beautiful sets (and mattes). I just wish the ending was a bit more satisfying. :p

Not to get too sidetracked, but I always enjoyed The Black Hole too. Awesome music, very moody atmosphere, and great visuals. A flawed movie, for sure, but still fun to watch. And Maximillian was scary as hell.

Sorry to hear the news about the (old) falcon, Ady, but very glad to hear about the (new) falcon. Thanks, sketchrob. I think we're all very appreciative of your contribution to this project.

Then the live action series would be watchable. I have all kinds of ideas for what i would do. I was going to pitch the idea to lucasfilm years ago. It will probably be crappy like battlestar or stargate after the first 2 seasons. I want to see the show in the same vein as the movies. I dont want it full of the same old bullshit like a soap opera. Look at Joss Whedons work. The man is genius but his shows start feeling to familar after a few seasons. Firefly was great because it wasnt on long enough to start sucking.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Glad to see things worked themselves out. Thanks a lot Sketchrob!

Though I am curious as to what sequence(s) the falcon model is actually needed for. I assume the shots in question are fairly vital to the edit, as Adywan is going through considerable trouble to aquire the material he needs for them. Ady is re-shooting the asteroid canyon scene...and what else?

that's wat i figured he's using it for. the only other thing i can think of is when he decides to redo the hanger bay.

the shield generator he's redoing, but i don't think he needs the falcon for that.

Thanks sketchrob!

So let's see...I believe he's using the Falcon for the canyon, the hangar and the space slug.

It is a good thing he doesnt need a space slug. It always looked pretty good.

I noticed in this frame the colour suddently jumps brighter for like 2 or 3 frames and then goes back to its consistent colour tone used throughout. Adywan, I'm sure you picked this up in colour correction?

Adywan, were you going to do anything about Vader's inconsistent skin tone on the back of his head? As you can see on the right his skin is much more yellow than the left:

I found a spelling error:

You mentioned this twice. First at #5 and then again at #34:

I always liked this shot. I read that the executioner model was actually smaller than the stardestroyer models. Is this true?

But it looks unnatural how it just transitions right from pink to yellow.

YOU'LL HAVE NOTHING AND YOU'LL LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! just kidding. I have personally met people who have been burned and their faces will have several colors that look UNNATURAL. It fits with the rest of the saga so it needs no work.

Ady, Could you reinsert the original "The first transport is away line" the new one sounds to much like my 9th grade science teacher. I always cringe when I hear it I do not know why.
