I am being cautiously optimistic...or as cautious as I can get. Indiana Jones films are some of my all-time favorites, and after a new Rocky, a new Die Hard, and a new Rambo (all of which were fabulous) I'm psyched for a new Indy. The trailer looks good. The plot sounds very typical of an Indy film; yeah, I know it will be about aliens, but all of the films have been ridiculous. The acting and writing make it feasable. They're making a lot of good moves with the film, including bringing back Marion from the first one; she's by far the best Indy girl, and part of what makes Raiders such a great movie.

The only thing that makes me nervous is Shia LaBeouf...don't get me wrong, I think the kid is a good, fun actor in his own territory (like Transformers) but will he fit with Indy? I don't think bad acting will be the downfall of the character, because LaBeouf can act, but will a teenage cyclist fit with the Indy formula? I'm one of the few people I know who liked Short Round, and Mutt can't be any worse, right?

Anyway, I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic, but the truth is, I can't wait for this movie. Give me this, The Dark Knight, and Quantum of Solace (the new Bond film) and that's all the cinema I need this year.
