I ordered the Italian DVD. Italy to the states will probably take 2 weeks. I will let you all know if it has it or not, once I get it. I'll make a rip of the scene for whoever wants it, if it does. I can do the sound too.

The site I got it from said 95 minutes. I hope Lambert does the overdub. I know he speaks Italian. His French overdubs are great.

I ordered it two for my collection, I am skeptical of this.... 95 min runtime

Considering shipments within Europe rarely takes more than 2-3 days for me I hope to get this by Monday. Can't wait! I bought it off an Italian eBay seller so I hope he ships it as soon as humanly possible!

ON A SIDE NOTE:

Good and bad news -

First the good news - Highlander II: The Extended Zeist Version - will be released on the week of the 15th of May 2007.

Now the bad - We have decided to release a single layer version with static menus. The reason is someone in this thread may have located a 2:35.1 version of the 100min edit / AKA: Fairytale Version or Early European Version.
Now the cut is possibly in 2:35.1 and runs 95 mins but in Italian Audio, now if this DVD ( I ordered it myslef direct from italy) turns out to be a 16:9/ 2:35.1 widesreen version we would have to re-edit the 1:85.1 out and add the 2:35.1. We hope this is the case because previously it wasn't available 2:35.1 to our knowledge. The audio we have already fixed in english from other source material.

So why we all wait patiently we have decided to release the version we have without the extras. We were going to push it back until we find out about this disc but we know a lot of you have been patient and we wanted to mke you happy as well.

So, it will be released SL w/ static menu/ no extras

And if we get the Italian DVD and it says what it says is true, then we will re-edit it and release the whole DL with extras (sometime down the road). PhineasBG and I put a lot of work in this DVD and wanted the DL to be special. But again, if we do locate the 2:35.1 footage it may take awhile to revisit it since we have already started several other projects. So instead of waiting until whenever we are just going or the SL, thanks to everyone that has stood by this thread.

And thank you PhineasBg for your great effort and work my friend :-)

Noted the phrase "Adatto a ogni tipo di televisore" on the back of the cover supplied by track100 which according to Babelfish means "Adapted to every type of television set". That would mean it is even in anamorphic widescreen. Nice!

It will be interesting to see exactly how long this version is. The full version of the film was 100:20 according to the BBFC website, due to censorship rules it was then shortened by 32 seconds making it 99:48 in length. A transfer to PAL would speed up the film by 4.2 seconds thus making it about 96 minutes long, give or take.

The single layer DVD we're releasing will have a couple of extras:

1. Theatrical Trailer found on the French DVD, converted to NTSC anamorphic (no French subtitling).
2. Expanded Fairytale Ending
3. Enhanced Deleted Scenes

97.46? That timing sounds wrong to me. According to my calculations the full version, as viewed by the BBFC, would be 96.23 PAL.

That's odd, what does the German cut have that the others don't have I wonder. Seeing as the Germans like to cut up movies it would be more likely to go the other way... shorter!
The timings given by the Norwegian and Swedish ratings bureaus differed slightly but that could be from counting blank frames so hard to say if there were longer cuts than the one given to the UK board for review.

Recently discovered footage has allowed us to restore the Extended Zeist Version in 2:35.1 complete as well as restoring the Euro version...

    Sound was already done, it's just a matter of adding the new scenes.
    Adding the new scenes seems to be not difficult according to Phineasbg, he has the german and TV cut scenes already in there as a reference.
