I think that the reason most people like other comic book characters over Superman, is because he's too much of a boy scout. He has not inner turmoil that makes him cool. Plus, unlike the other superheroes, we can't achive his status. He's an alien. At least with Spider-Man or the X-Men we could have a chance, and with Batman we could be just like him too, but Superman? No. We really can't be him.
