Don't shoot me here, but have you checked the existing bonus DVD material for the missing segments with correct Lightsabers, cut segments and whatnot?....It sure would be an improvement over trying to match LD to DVD, if you're going that route.

Also, have you noticed a significant amount of cut material from the Jedi Ghost scene?, it seems shorter to me....I could be wrong here but I remember Luke "winking" at the Ghosts as he turns away...If memory serves that 1-2 second segment is cut on the DVD.
