Make Site Rules more obvious

Author

It seems that the site rules are not very obvious / discover-able for new users. (Not that this excuses anyone).

I just revisited the registration page, and it makes you agree to the Terms of Service but it is easy to scroll over that without realizing it is a list of rules.

And the Announcements category is getting full, and the Rules are kinda pushed down out of site. perhaps a “Rules” announcement should be made sticky?

Bump.

Since things seem to be in progress of being updated. (And hopefully that includes the long promised fixing of the http://originaltrilogy.com/about.html and http://originaltrilogy.com/help.html pages)

New users need to agree to the terms of service (http://originaltrilogy.com/terms-of-service.html - which is also broken and quite out of date (RSS feeds? hah).

Our ‘rules’ should be made into a top level page like about and help, and new users should be told to read them (in addition to the terms of service).

oojason has written a bunch of new content for the About and Help sections that will be incorporated into one of the next few updates.

Our TOS are boilerplate legalese meant to cover us under any and all circumstances. If there any lawyers who want to make recommendations, I’m open, but I don’t plan on editing them.

Agree that the rules should be stickied or added to the primary navigation (or both).

Mainly the Stylesheet is just broken on the TOS (like it is on help and about). looking forward to oojason’s updates.

The styles will be fixed when the content updates go live.
