Well, didn’t he create the character to begin with?

JJ creates amazing startpoints and isn’t the best at sticking the landing in my opinion.

I tend to disagree. We’ll see I guess.

How is there even anything to disagree on. JJ is universally notorious for his playing-it-safe mystery boxes that frequently rip off older, better content. The guy hasn’t done anything unique since the beginning of his career. It’s not like it’s a niche opinion. He’s not a bad director but he’s still a company yes-man; he’s a safe crowd pleasing bet. Not a bad thing if all you care about are popcorn flicks, but otherwise you’re shit outta luck.
