The way Luke actually died. For no fucking reason. At all.

Not. Fucking. Cool. Rian.

My nephew and I were discussing this…why DID he die? Did he use up all his life force when he astral projected? I mean, WTF?

I’m sure Official Lucasfilm product -

Well I’d say there’s a line in the movie that directly explains it, but then I’m not sure why you’re quoting posts from December.

Carrie Fisher’s poor life choices won’t allow that narrative to further play out.

Jesus… What even? Come on man I hate the film too but why was that even necessary, crap like that doesn’t help your argument.

I have to say, I enjoyed TLJ a lot on bluray. I’m gonna miss Snoke though. I love a true evil mofu…

Huh!.. very interesting turn of opinion. What changed your mind when rewarching it on home video if you don’t mind me asking?

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

I think I just accepted it’s flawed, and tried to look past those flaws, and then found I enjoy Mark Hamill’s performance a lot. Snoke is a better Emperor than Ian McDiarmid’s prequel reinterpretation, which was just campy without being menacing. I also found the Kylo/Rey skype sessions to be one of the more original elements in the film, that ended up being really effective. I also really enjoyed the last act, with Kylo betraying Snoke, and Luke pulling the wool over the eyes of his former student. Overall it’s an above average blockbuster, that also happens to be a Star Wars film.

I am legitimately happy for you. It’s no fun disliking any Star Wars film.

I enjoy Mark Hamill’s performance a lot.

Not a fan of how the film plays out but I’ll vehemently defend Mark’s performance, I think he did an outstanding job.

Of the list of complaints I have of the film, the acting is definitely not one of them.

The amount of effort Hamill put into his role despite him disagreeing entirely with the writing of his character, I think really shows how much of a stand up guy he is. You can tell he cares a lot about the characters and the lore, and even if he disagreed with the direction that Rian took, he was dedicated to bringing out his vision. Very commendable.

Indeed. On the other side of the coin, it’s painfully obvious when Harrison Ford doesn’t like a role he’s playing.

Yeah, he seemed to be much more into playing TFA Han than ROTJ Han. First time in years I’ve seen Ford deliver a performance he wasn’t sleepwalking through.

Pretty much every interview I’ve seen of his the last few years has him saying his purpose for playing a role is the paycheque.

I don’t know how to believe that when I watch him in Blade Runner 2049.

I believe it in the Vegas scenes easily.

Ford has always been a “this is just a job” kind of actor anyway, with no particular attachment or love for any of his characters, except maybe Indy. But even so, there’s got to be some scripts or directors or working environments that bring more of a spark out of him than others.

I have the same thoughts but those are his words…now, he jokes about it while he’s saying it but he also never qualifies his words to reflect he’s just joking either. IMO I can see where he would grow tired of the a character like Han or Indy like a band gets tired of playing that big hit years later all the time.
