He’s in a movie called Mandy that got a lot of buzz at Sundance this year.

Watchable?

Wicker Man.

I meant watchable for not so-bad-its-good reasons. I should’ve said that but I had forgotten we’re talking about Nicolas Cage.

Looking at his filmography, I’d say the most recent one is Kick-Ass (which I’d kind of forgotten about). Then Bad Lieutenant, then Lord of War.

So I was right, but I missed one.

Shame on all of you for saying Wicker Man is watchable. I can’t even be bothered to italicize it.

What was the last movie Nic Cage was in that was actually good? Seems he’s been in nothing but schlock since the mid '00s.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is awesome. Came out in 2012.

I can’t even believe their re-releasing it on BD.

I doubt that’s a re-release on 4K…

But it is a rerelease of a really shitty movie. How it got the 4K treatment will forever remain a mystery.

Because the restorationists at Lucasfilm are bored and needed a project to kill the time.

I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.

Sometimes I think you want to fail.

(It’s one of the funnier movies I’ve seen.)

Wow, 3-4 decent movies for the price of 9 in a box like that! Absolutely perfect deal!

Still cheaper than the Superman set.

That’s especially funny to me because:

  1. Superman Returns is in a separate continuity from III and IV
  2. Superman II: Donner Cut is in yet another continuity; neither Superman III nor Superman Returns can function as a sequel to the Donner Cut of II
  3. As far as I can see, the theatrical cut of Superman II is not included, so if they’re going for completism by including both branching post-II continuities, they got lazy there for no good reason

Oh, but yeah, the box art is all total garbage.

Yeah, as far as I can tell, the don’t include the theatrical cut of the first Superman movie either. I can’t find the theatrical cuts of I and II outside of that prohibitively expensive boxset from over a decade ago.

Oh, and the second disc from the 25th anniversary release of Batman isn’t included either.

I feel like any DVD cover qualifies for this thread.

The house with a doorway that opens to a perilous drop on the cliff isn’t so dangerous looking in the actual movie.

I guess they really wanted to show it’s on a island for the DVD cover, hence the bad photoshopping.

^The movie itself is bad anyway.

Not true at all.

The acting is over the top and silly, and, while I am sometimes a defender of adaptations not needing to be exact, this film definitely suffered from having an ending that is nothing like the book.

Okay, not all the acting was over the top and silly, but the first death stuck with my brain so that’s what I think of first.

But is it worse than this or this?

I haven’t seen either of those.
