I am a casual fan of the Wallace and Gromit adventures. I wasn’t aware it was a victim of music cuts (one of my pet hates!)
I have the UK DVD release from 2000. Does anyone know if this is an uncut version? I know it will be the correct framerate, and would be happy to provide a PAL sync to the TV rip if it is required. Ideally the Australian Blu-ray would be the best visual source, but no-one around here seems to have access to it…All UK PAL DVD’s have the music edits. I have the AUS BD but sadly no Blu Ray drive to rip it with.
Ah that’s a shame.
Ironically I have a Blu-ray drive for ripping, but no disc to rip!
It is, nevermind. I picked my copy up about a year ago from Amazon.co.uk when they were selling it there under the guidance that someone at BluRay.com claimed it also had the original unaltered audio for TWT, only for me to find out when it arrived that this was not the case. Still, and HD version of all 4 TV specials at the correct playspeed is still a win as the UK BD is 24fps. You can still find the AUS BD on eBay for under £15 incase anyone who has a BD drive wants to rip it. I’d he happy for now with a PAL DVD/TVrip sync though.
Was it animated at 25fps? I remember reading that the Wallace and Gromit shorts were shown on film in addition to TV broadcast, but I could be wrong.
It was shot at 25fps which I think was common practice for TV films at the time. On a side note, the audio commentary with Nick Park from my 2005 “3 Cracking Adventures!” DVD has the original audio intact but of course gets talked over some parts. I can upload that if anyone wants to mux that in.
