I just don’t think it works in this movie. Seeing further destruction adds terror and emotional weight, which would actually be troublesome with how quickly the movie moves on.
It needs to be as it is- powerful, but brief and detached.
Agreed, plus they already add emotional weight a bit later on in the movie anyway when you see Obiwan suddenly affected and has to sit down, saying to Luke “I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror…and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.”
