they should find someone with ability to sing it, someone whose singing style fits the Anthem sung straight. The Anthem is not rap, rock, swing, or Jazz song.

To follow up, Warbler might be saying that from a patriotic perspective—with respect being shown toward the anthem/flag in mind. For me, I agree with him but from a musical perspective. It is not a pop song or blues or death metal or whatever. It was written to be sung straight, and to do otherwise ruins the tone musically.
