Would anyone happen to have a link to A New Hope: Revisited? I have only been able to find it as multiple files. Any chance the whole movie is on 1 file?

You might find that in public torrent sites to be fair, if you’re looking for single files. If not, go to Revisited’s Facebook page.

Edit: https://youtu.be/VCiXTpnIrW4 this video shows you how to get revisited.

Another minor thing I’ve found is that in the opening, a stormtrooper has duct tape covering a hole in his armour

Other fix to add to list list if it hasn’t already been done

Sorry if this question has already been answered Adywan, but what source are you going to use to revert SE changes back to their original form?

Interesting edit of the destruction of Alderaan-

Interesting. I’m sure Ady could do a better, more seamless job of it. I would actually be 100% on board with an extended alderaan destruction sequence ala the bonus scene on the original revisited dvd being incorporated into the movie. Rogue One did a great job of showing the death star firing from the POV of the planet surface and I think it could work great here.

It would be a cool sequence but I think the pacing would be thrown off with how the scene is structured.

Agreed.

But I do think that borrowing some R1 scenes would be great if they can be incorporated seamlessly, as in shot in a similar way as the rest of the movie.

Edit: also agree with ray.

I just don’t think it works in this movie. Seeing further destruction adds terror and emotional weight, which would actually be troublesome with how quickly the movie moves on.
It needs to be as it is- powerful, but brief and detached.

Agreed, plus they already add emotional weight a bit later on in the movie anyway when you see Obiwan suddenly affected and has to sit down, saying to Luke “I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror…and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.”

What about instead, a shot of people looking up at the Death Star right after it pulls up to Alderann, but before the scene inside the DS with Leia even begins. That wouldn’t change he pacing when the planet is destroyed, but still add weight to the planets destruction.
Just a thought.

This may or may not have been discussed, but what is everyone’s thoughts on using Han’s theme in Revisited. John Williams is recording a theme for Han for the SOLO movie.

If it’s a good theme that meshes well, I see no reason not to include it in some Han moments if it works well in context. But again, it very may well not mesh well with the non-musically-scored scenes, and I definitely wouldn’t be in favor of replacing existing music in the film with it.

On a side note, has Ady officially confirmed that no version of Battle of the Heroes will appear in this version? I seem to remember him saying something about it, but can’t remember what. Someone at one point posted an instrumental version without the chorus that I think would work, and I’m one of the (maybe few) people who really liked that addition to ANH-R.

He confirmed it: no PT music (and I don’t believe that music tracked from any other episode is on the table… hum… except Vader’s theme during the Death Star assault ?).

I still think it’d be nice to add a bit of the Imperial March to the scene when Vader arrives on the Tantive, though that would mean replacing a small bit of original music.

Disagree. I’d love for the HD version to be ANH:R PURIST in HD, but I know that that’s going too far. But I’m still against using pieces of soundtrack from the other movies, like the imperial march or battle of heroes.

Understandable, and I think Adywan is on the same page as you for ANH:R:HD. I might just do my own version of the audio track with the March inserted for myself.

If you do could I please have that version?

Author

Sure, but only if Adywan gives me permission to share it. If so, it’d be available to anyone who wants it.

It’s not that I don’t think it fits - the imperial march fits perfectly imo for the Death Star reveal - but it takes away from the first time we hear it in ESB.

Regarding Battle of the Heroes, I don’t really think it fits at all.

I actually agree with both of these, but in the context of the entire saga (yes, even the prequels…) it’s odd that the March is completely absent from Episode IV.

I disagree, but I understand.

PT is my guilty pleasure and I tend to rewatch them every year, so I’d be one to notice that, but I don’t. I guess I’ve gotten used to SW without imperial march or something like that. I don’t know, I just don’t miss it. Vader’s not THAT important in the movie as in the other 5, so I guess there’s a reason for you.

Also, if you watch the saga in release order it ends up making sense and new viewers won’t even notice or remember that it was absent from the movie, I don’t think. Heck, I only realized that the the march wasn’t in it hours before TFA’s opening night, when I marathoned the OT.

Not only that, but I’m pretty sure Revisited is, for all intents and purposes, only a trilogy now 😃
