Is it in any way possible to add in some form of explanation for the Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs nicknames to PoA?
I’m guessing the answer is no and that’s just a pipe dream of mine, but a man can dream…
Some of you may be familiar with my Revisited Harry Potter franchise, with the completed work being Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Goblet of Fire revisited.
Prisoner of Azkaban and Order of the Phoenix are the next one to go for the same treatment, Prisoner of Azkaban being held off until after work finished on Goblet of Fire due to PoA being less of a struggle, and easier to edit. The movie is pretty perfect as is, and will only get minor changes to fix continuity and some musical alterations.
With that being said, what I want from you guys is to get suggestions for Prisoner of Azkaban and Order of the Phoenix; things you’d like to see done, things you’d like to see removed, and suggestions in general.
Let’s remaster the magic!

Maybe for PoA, after Harry looks at the picture, you could cut immediately to him outside, preparing to leave Little Whinging and his encounter with the Knight Bus. 😃

Hmm, interesting thought. Would you care to elaborate why? Is it because he threathens Vernon with a wand before he leaves? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I am very open for suggestions, as I’ve been thinking about this a lot myself. I would really like for a way to get this through to the audience, but how… absolutely not sure. We could have a dream sequence or something, or perhaps when the Dementors suck both Harry and Sirius’s souls near the end Harry shares memories with Sirius in some sort of nightmare sequence where their nicknames are said out loud to the footage of their faces.

But why? Line delivery? Behaviour? I’m eager to know.
Does anyone else find this scene bad?

Well, the scene played out a little weak to me. I guess a little more could’ve been added to that short moment before Harry leaves. Plus, a rather unnecessary mention of Hogwarts’ restriction of underage wizardry.
I completely understand if you feel you want to leave this scene in. It’s only my suggestion.

Hmm, interesting. I’m not against you, but I’m not sure I’m entirely with you either. I like the scene - I think it creates some extra tension and show some character growth, standing up for himself, and also depicts all the emotions coming with puberty.
I agree with you that it’s short - perhaps a bit redundant, and I can’t help but feel that a lot of stuff was left on the cutting room floor.

Also, I believe you said you’ll be adding a few deleted scenes to the film. Care to enlighten?

All the ones there are, with the help of JJPotter’s amazing restructure of them.

Well, JJ used a stellar spinning background for the Knight Bus deleted scene, mayhaps you could ask him where he got such a background. ^^

Here are a few suggestions foe OotP:
there are 2 subtle moments where you can see that Ginny still has a crush on Harry, maybe you can make them a little bit more obvious for example by music cues or zooming in
in the beginning you could make a transition shot where you go from happy Harry with his GoF Hair to a depressed Harry with OtP Hair (maybe even add a haircutting sound effect to make it seem as he changed his hair because of the traumatic events)
make the scenes with Grob darker to hide the bad CGI
when Harry is told that he has to go to court you can add a small moment where Harry get a flashback of the meeting for Karkaroff
add most of the deleted scenes except for the treylawne one
try to get rid of the “you are not like Voldemort” message of this movie, its cheesy as hell and was already featured in Chamber
HBP music for the love scenes
already include some of the Deathly Hallows Snape sequences when Harry gets into his mind
add Sorcerers Stone music for the last scene where they get to the train to make a little callback
the cloud effect you did at the beginning needs to be reworked a little bit
Those are some damn excellent suggestions, man. Please feel free to come with more. This is the kind of suggestion list I want and need. Very, very good ideas. I’ll definitely use a couple.
And yes, the cloud effect is not done - it is a rough cut to showcase how it’ll flow.

Say, speaking of the cloud effect, that seems to differ a bit in aspect ratio with the film.

Yes, as stated; it was a rough cut. But thanks for the reply! All the finetuning is being done throughout the editing process.
I would love more suggestions for the movie, including Half-Blood Prince.

Thank you for those suggestions. Some of them, maybe to your surprise, are already even in use. The original score of SS-CoS has a stamp on both OotP and HBP.

I’ve read that Nicholas Hooper got inspired by Williams’ score but I can’t remember him reusing any of the old themes other than Hedwig’s theme and the quidditch music from PoA. Hooper’s scores are my favourite ones, so I’m glad that you put some of it into the other movies.

Then he probably was more inspired of the actual tone and sound of his score, rather than the musical cues. I really loved Hooper’s score for HBP, but I found the score for OotP very, very boring and unimaginative, with few exceptions being Sirius’ new theme (but why the f*ck would you even make a new theme when you have A Window to the Past!).

I know this might be controversial but I always hated the way time travel was portrayed in Prisoner of Azkaban. It’s this endless time loop where Harry and Hermione change absolutely nothing, they just gain a little bit of perspective.
By removing Hermione throwing that stone and Harry seeing “his father” at the lake you could make it look like it’s the classic way of time travel. It would make moments like the saving of Buckbeak more meaningful aswell because they actually achieve something.
Though you would have to find solutions to Harry and Hermione noticing the minister and Dumbledore coming (maybe add a footstep sound effect) and Harry getting saved at the lake.
But the whole point is that it’s a closed loop…
My suggestions for Prisoner of Azkaban:
Idea: Make a version of the movies with Jeremy Soule’s score made for the games instead of (or along with) the original John Williams score.
