I do not want to give any impression that I am a Sherlock Holmes expert. However, I feel like I want to delve more into the origins of the series. So far, my greatest exposure has been three of the most prominent/recent iterations, though I know there are others, both recent and historical.

The Robert Downy, Jr. movies
The British series Sherlock
The American series Elementary

I truly enjoyed the RDJ versions, but when I watched Sherlock, I feel it blew the movies away completely. Elementary has its own unique twists and makes Sherlock more of a likable individual, but his deductive powers aren’t displayed as impressively (which could either add to or take away from the character, depending on how you look at it).

I guess I just felt we needed a thread to discuss Sherlock Holmes and our favorite incarnations. Perhaps we could share some recommendations.
