I’m sorry. What I was trying to say was that I want to like Rey without needing to take some side as to whether or not it’s motivated by some social bias.

My side: I liked Rey. Great character.
Other side: Rey sucked, she’s a Mary Sue female empowerment feminazi sjw character.
My Side: Shut up.

So yeah. My point is that my side is simply responding to the bullshit being brought up from the other side. Stop trying to claim “there’s good people on both sides” where only one side is trying to run over protesters with a car.

And yes that is extreme hyperbole, I’m aware. Point still stands. We don’t bring this crap up, we just try to call it out for the braindead argument it is when it’s brought up by the other side. There’s no equality at play here.

I’ve never made the argument that you must like the Rey character. Justifying your dislike with some bullshit about SJWs and feminazis is a whole other issue. There’s no “reverse bigotry” going on.

I assume(d) that there are potentially people somewhere (on this site even) who assume if someone doesn’t like Rey it’s likely because they are sexist/misogynist, even if said person made no accusation of her being a Mary Sue.

I just included the term “reverse bigotry” to be inclusive of either potential extreme when I really am just saying I’m tired of the argument altogether no matter which way you come at it. I did not intend to assert that “reverse bigotry” is a problem worth discussing, especially when it comes to Rey.
