And this is why we need spoiler code on this forum! Deploying plot spoiler sensitive sunglasses now!

You’re in the spoiler thread. Perhaps you don’t need sunglasses but reading glasses.

For a film that hasn’t come out to the general public yet it may have been somewhat of a surprise to see that review with the content included (especially your first line of the spoilers you posted).

It may have been better / a little more considerate to have stated that you have seen film beforehand - then left a fair large blank space between that and the start of your spoilers - to give fellow members a choice.

It’s…a…spoilers…thread.

I didn’t realize its inconsiderate to post spoilers in the spoilers thread.

Lose… the… attitude… soft… lad…

A little heads-up that you had seen the film ahead of it’s general release date - and a few blank spaces between - to give people a choice / option to read it or not - wouldn’t have gone amiss.

That is all. Thank you.

I told myself that I was going to avoid spoilers for this one, but after some asshole on Reddit spoiled it for me I decided to go all in.

If anyone’s interested, here’s all of the dialogue in the movie.

It’s a (somewhat) common expression in the English language. If Star Wars was in any way realistic (other than amazing characters) they wouldn’t even speak english!

The words within the dialogue don’t matter, it’s the purpose.

Here it is: the full (albeit cut up in a few spaces) score for TLJ:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI6bV6fJ-Dc

It feels like Star Wars purgatory set to music. Though I mean that in a positive connotation: it’s moody, subdued, and it pulls a plethora of cues from places I definitely never expected to hear again. Definitely evocative of early 70’s Williams in its style.

The film is out today in many countries (the 13th) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2527336/releaseinfo

So if you don’t want to be spoiled before seeing the movie yourselves… I’d suggest you exit the thread - and also consider giving your social media links a wide berth too… until you have seen the film.

I don’t think that that’s the score! The description has incorrect track titles.

So, should I wait for a few days before posting my thoughts on the movie? Or is a spoiler warning enough?

Go for it mate - the film has been released to the general public - it is fair game.

In 8-and-a-bit hours I’ll have seen it myself 😃

OK. I’ll start without spoilers, then give a warning, start with light spoilers and work my way down to the big ones.

I’m kind of conflicted about the film. For now at least. Maybe I’ll change my opinion after a second viewing (I usually do).

Many parts of the film was amazing, others just felt weird. The Luke stuff I absolutely loved, but a lot of the Finn scenes felt really weird, and so did a lot of the First Order and Resistance stuff.

The humour was a mixed bag for me. Some was great, some if it felt a bit too cartoonish.

I also feel that it overdid the CGI a lot. RO has so far been the most balanced film VFX-vise. For such a character-based film, TLJ went a bit too big with the effects.

SPOILERS FROM NOW ON!

Canto Bight was a bit disappointing. Cool idea with much potential, but it didn’t really work that well within this plot. It really should have been reserved for a RO- or SOLO-type film

Admiral Holdo was pretty interesting, but the whole thing about the cruiser being out of firing range was pretty weird. I didn’t think much about while watching the film, but on the way home my brother pointed out how much of a plot hole it really was. Why didn’t Hux just send out TIE fighters? They’re much faster and would have decimated the ship in short time.

Yoda scene was great. I loved it. It was funny and emotional. And I was so glad they did him as a puppet again. Probably my favourite scene.

BIG SPOILERS!

Rey’s parents are nobody important. Maybe it’s petty of me to enjoy the thought that all those stupid fan theories will fall apart, but I did. It also works better in terms if Rey’s development. I’m very pleased with this development.

Snoke’s death came as a huge surprise. I enjoyed the scene overall, but it still bugs me. Who is he? Where did he come from? This isn’t that important, but the OT never did anything like this. Yes, there’s the EU to explain these things, but it seems kinds weird to me.

Also surprised that there were no Knights of Ren what so ever.

Leia’s force self-rescue scene. I honestly can’t tell if it was brilliant or just silly.

Luke’s force projection was, to me, a wish come true. I’ve wanted to see this in a SW film for soon long. I wonder if Rian Johnson has read Dark Empire, as a lot of TLJ reminded me of it.

Not too sure what to think about Luke becoming one with the Force. It was unexpected, but I think it worked.

Speaking of Dark Empire, I’m glad they borrowed from DE 1. Not too sure about the DE 2-style ending though. The entire Resistance was literally reduced to like 20 people.

SPOILERS OVER!

I definitely liked it more than TFA, but until I’ve seen it again I can’t call it a “masterpiece” like so many others has. For now RO is still my favourite new SW film.

Pretty much agree. It was better than TFA, it had actual surprises, I liked Rey a lot more, Poe a little more, Luke was awesome… Music was great I think, Chewie sounded more like Chewie and not just Chewie Soundboard. Finn stuff were like pasted on to the story, Rose character was just a weird and useless addition and I didn’t like it at all. The casino scene was cringe-worthy to me. Leia stuff were great too, except like you said, that space flying… that was super weird. Etc. etc., you pretty much covered it.

It’s been in the Millennium Falcon since ANH. Though it is somewhat of an obscure reference. This is the first time they’ve been shown in any detail (movie-wise anyway.

Actually they were only in one two-second scene when Chewie’s head hits them in SW but they were never seen again until now.

Hm, ok. I expected something like that.

I can’t remember if Luke used his ligthsaber on Ahch-To… Does it still have it? Does we see it?

Just saw it. I’d give it 2½ stars. Too many lucky coincidences for me. Not enough main characters died. I felt no suspense. Perhaps I’m a bit jaded. Overall, not a bad movie. I guess I was expecting more.

I’d rate it as better than TFA but worse than rogue one.

Luke threw twice…maybe.

Just saw it. I’m with other people when they say that a second viewing is required.

I do love, however, how they really mess with your expectations.

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

It’s sad that because of this community I can never watch a Star Wars film without thinking of how I would edit it. I already have at least one definite edit I would make. More Green is all I will say
