I’m sorry if this was something you honestly overlooked, but so many people who harp on Rey’s purportedly unearned prowess/savvy tend to willfully ignore these details just to sustain their arguments. The fact that you didn’t employ the dread M-S word should’ve been enough for me not to assume you were posting in bad faith, so again, sorry. It’s just frustrating that there are so many people out there who don’t want to get it.
Thanks. This is honestly the second time I’ve ever seen the film since its release in 2015, so I haven’t really spent much time thinking about it. I have no issues otherwise, it was just a weird moment for me that hinges more on the execution of the idea rather than the idea itself.
