I’ve just uploaded a regrade of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens to Myspleen. The release is 22.9 GB and includes the DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 audio track from the blu-ray.

When the Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens blu-ray screencaps started cropping up, I had a look and thought that there seemed to be something off about the fleshtones, they all seemed too red but I couldn’t be sure. When I got my hands on the blu-ray and had the chance to look at the whole film in closer detail, I could see that I was right, all the fleshtones look too red and sunburnt. Most likely this was done to maintain continuety with the reddish sunburnt fleshtones of the previous Star Wars Original Trilogy blu-rays. There is also a subtle blanket green tint across the whole blu-ray that gives the sunlight a greenish/flat feeling.

So with this release I have gone ahead and corrected the fleshtones so that everybody doesn’t look sunburnt. I have also removed the blanket green tint, making the sunlight far more natural looking. The opening scroll has also been selectively regraded to closely match the original trilogy theatrical releases. I now feel that the film is far more pleasing to the eye, correcting the overly reddish/sunburnt fleshtones and removing the blanket green tint brings all the other colours in the film back to life, making it a lot more enjoyable to watch. Also included are the chapter timings taken straight from the official blu-ray.
