As we look to Ridley retiming additional shots that had to be slowed down using his technological alchemy, we should take a look at the Starkiller explosion scene. Any shots between, “It is time to complete his training” and the shot of the Falcon and X-wings where they formerly jumped to lightspeed are potentially slowed down very slightly. NeverarGreat carefully matched the necessary length of the music track.

Personally, I would prefer having the shots be slowed over not having them at all. Seeing the pilots’ reactions to Starkiller base firing, seeing the people in the Resistance control room, etc. is all critical to the emotion in the scene. For the last part, when the Falcon flies away, I had no issue with that whatsoever. I would rather have the slowness than not have the scenes.

Well, the light coming on is at least connecting Threepio’s weird line to the actual thing that happens at the end. That’s the idea anyway, an elegant, simple solution that does not involve much modification of the original film.

Obviously, the whole plot point is pretty weak. But I think this is a good workaround.

I’m real proud of the final product, and really will be once we get it produced. 😉

It’s great work! You should be very proud!

Let us know what your family thinks of it.

Just wondering if anyone else has tried burning it to Blu-ray yet. I’ve experienced some technical hurdles trying to share it with my family, so we just watched the MKV via connecting my computer to the TV. Trying to burn it has been a nightmare… ended up buying Toast Titanium Pro just for the capability, but it ended up with all sorts of framerate issues. I’m going to convert it via Handbrake to an MP4 and burn that, but I was really hoping that I wouldn’t have to do that because I don’t want to affect the image quality.
