I’ve heard the director say in interviews that he’s filming some flashback scenes with the Part I cast, which makes sense since the cast was the most positively received aspect of the film and every character but Pennywise will have to be recast in Part II. What worries me about the prospects of an extended cut is that they have included fifteen minutes of deleted footage on the upcoming bluray, which is how much longer the supposed director’s cut was supposed to be, so maybe they just gave up on it. Hard to say, I just hope that we get one, and I’m sure we will because this bluray release has a really small amount of bonus material and doesn’t have a commentary track or the director’s cut that the director himself said he was commissioned by the studio to make and this movie was so successful that they’ll surely want to give it a definitive release at some time.
