It should be up to us. We speak the language. If people were willing to take the time to realize the context and intent of people’s use of words then it would help a lot.
By “us” I meant the two of us. It’s not as easy as telling everyone “hey, that word that offends you? don’t be offended anymore.”
I try to be cordial with people, but I don’t want to police what I say for fear of someone that I’m not even talking to taking offense at it.
