There’s also multiple instances (first shown, I think, in ROTS when Yoda is chopping up clones outside the Temple) of a character throwing a lightsaber, the blade impaling a victim, and the saber staying in place just like a sword or other physical object would, rather than falling to the ground and partially bisecting the victim.
When watching TFA, during the scene on the bridge, I had the thought about how a normal saber would have just cleanly impaled someone, but Ren’s saber was continually sparking random bits of plasma up inside Han’s torso, burning the rest of his insides as it was held there.
And now I’ll never be able to watch TFA without imaginig hundreds of holes being melted through Han’s organs during that scene…
