Once they added in the patch that brought the “windows” back to Windows, 8 was perfectly fine.
ClassicShell was really useful for Windows 8 (having a Start Button and familiar UI Menu system / easy access to desktop screen etc) - and not at all embarrassing for those at Microsoft who said that it couldn’t be done at the time…
(I think the lad behind ClassicShell knocked it out days after the Windows 8 release too 😃)
