Sadly this new release contains a couple of minor digital alterations. The windshield does not fall out of the truck in the first chase sequence. In addition, an obvious Arnie stunt double has been altered to look more like Arnie in a motorcycle scene (I think the same scene as the truck).
I haven’t seen the new 3D release but… are the alterations distracting on George Lucas levels? With today’s technology I’d imagine making the stunt guy look more like Arnie, could be done pretty flawlessly. The windshield I can sort of understand because it has always fallen in the past viewings.
I had never seen the movie before and never would have noticed them. The stunt guy is far away in the shot, so quite small. The changes are totally transparent.
