I’ve never seen that proposed. What I HAVE seen proposed, time and time again, is a ban on the type of gun that is designed solely for one purpose: killing as many people as possible as quickly as possible (such as the gun(s) used in the Vegas shootings). Then comes the pushback that it’s a slippery slope to banning all guns, which is ridiculous. If everything were a slippery slope, we’d never change anything.

How many would have died if the shooter were armed with a handgun, hunting rifle, or shotgun?

I’m a liberal, and I don’t know a single liberal who wants to ban all guns. I come from a family of liberals who were also hunters. Saying we want to ban all guns is a red herring (or a straw man, one of the two). Now I do admit, it’s difficult to play “fantasy Rambo” with a shotgun, but I’m not convinced that was what the authors of the 2nd amendment had in mind.
