I’m late-gen X, so I grew up with TNG, but I didn’t like TOS much until more recently (given the campiness and overdramatic acting)—whereas I like everything TNG and afterward, hands down. Well… everything post-Riker-beard. 😃

The TNG movies, by and large, are meh. I like the Kirk movies except V and the theatrical version of The Motion Picture (The V’Ger Incident fanedit was decent). I also love ST '09 and ST:Beyond, but I haven’t seen the Star Trek Vengeance fanedit of Into Darkness yet to know where it weighs in for me. Theatical ST:ID is too long and unfocused on who the real villain is.

Okay, now I’ve seen Star Trek: Vengeance. The Seeds of Wrath fanedit was okay, I guess. Vengeance, however, was amazing. He seems to have fixed whatever issues I had with the movie. Yes, Benedict Cumberbatch (STID Khan) is absolutely no Ricardo Montalban (TOS/WOK Khan), but there are far fewer callbacks to TOS in this edit, allowing the new cast to stand on their own. And I didn’t feel like this lulled in the middle like the theatrical release does. It’s really good.

So yes, now I like the whole Kelvin Timeline thus far.
