It. The movie tried a bit too hard to be scary at times, but the kid cast worked well together in a Stranger Things sort of way.

3 clowns out of 4 for me…

Barefoot in the Park (1967) - Cute Neil Simon romantic comedy with Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. Somewhat relatable, mostly just cute fun. Good soundtrack by Neal Hefti. 3.5/5.

Is the IT 2017 remake better than the original TV Movie?

Following (1998)

Neat little atmospheric, low-budget flick.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

Found out about an event screening and just couldn’t miss the opportunity to see this on the big screen.

Was it worth it? Director’s cut or theatrical?

Lol they obviously aren’t good but rating The exorcist II above the prequels is hilarious.

Director’s, and it was absolutely worth it.

I’ve been disappointed by these things in the past. The theater uses their low-res, preshow projector for the feature, and many times I’m all alone. At that point, the Blu-ray is a better alternative. I’d go to be surrounded by people who love it just as much as I do, and to get a true theater experience.

Plus I wasn’t sure what suspiciouscoffee thought of Wrath of Khan.

Handman is right, I assumed it was a DISH Network Satellite feed like RiffTrax Live, which is why I didn’t look into going to see it.

It depends where you see it. For the most part you’re getting a standard DCP like any other movie, though I suppose some theaters are shittier.

And I think it is the DC. Should be playing Wednesday too.

I walked out of a Fathom Events screening of Poltergeist a few years ago because it was a shitty low-res projection that went from letterboxed (you read that right) 2.40:1 during the credits to cropped 16:9 for the rest of the movie.

Well, I for one had no problems with Wrath of Khan’s projection yesterday, but it could vary by theater.

I’ve been to a handful of Fathom Events screening (LOTR extended trilogy, Singin’ In the Rain, Planet of the Apes), no complaints for any. Looking forward to E.T. next week.

American Movie - 8/10

Really funny documentary we watched in my film production class, little bit depressing though. Hope I don’t turn out like that guy.

First Blood (1982)

The Terminator (1984)

Both great films.

I love that movie. It’s funny, but also very inspirational.
And you could do much worse than to become someone who chases his dreams until he succeeds. He’s doing fairly well.

When you put it like that… yeah. But after I watched it I had the thought of being watched in a high school classroom and being laughed at by a bunch of teachers and still living in the same house (or neighborhood, can’t remember) as your parents at age 30.
