He’s too good to be an 80s icon, his legacy is timeless. His music has a unique quality of being timeless and ageless. His music always sounds current and relevant and there’s not a single thing about any of his track that would date it.
As much as I love led Zeppelin, even they can’t make that claim. While some of their music is definitely timelessly good, some of it definitely sounds dated and doesn’t have that ageless quality srv will always have. Some of their stuff will always be good but I can’t think of a single srv song that doesn’t at least sound relevant today even if I don’t like it. But then again blues rock is a more timeless genre.
