That’s almost an immediate deal breaker for me… Man that’s a bummer. I play Zelda games almost entirely for the atmosphere and music is a big part of that.
It still is. Don’t worry.
It’s more sparse than usual at times, but it’s all used to great effect. Lot’s of callbacks hidden in the melodies. Very organic and “live”. Check out the track list for the full soundtrack on youtube. Tons of music!
There aren’t as many looped melodies, but the music still enhances the mood just as well as any LOZ title. The new approach was surprising, but it works wonderfully. A looped overworld theme just would not work for this game.
It’s not my favorite LOZ soundtrack (that’s a toss up between AOL, ALTTP & SS), but it fit’s this wonderful game like a glove.
